VÄGEN - The People's High School Pathway to Work and Further Studies is an ESF+ project aimed primarily at participants with disabilities, foreign-born persons and people with socio-economic problems studying at folk high schools. The aim of the project is to increase transitions from school to work and the main objectives are: - that the target group to a greater extent than before should shorten their time between studies and work or further studies at post-secondary level - that young people and adults within the target groups above feel that they have a clear planning for the next step towards work or studies The project methodically takes its starting point in the previous ESF project FAMN - Folkhögskola as an arena for method development with new arrivals where the model for method development that the project developed will be tested on new target groups. The project was carried out by Folkbildningsrådet during 2019-2021. Experience is also taken from the ESF project Vi, which has been implemented and owned by the region in Västra Götaland and which, among other things, has worked with co-creative activities to meet the participants at eye level. Results from Danish research at Aarhus University on so-called BIP indicators (employment indicators), which actually bring individuals with complex problems to work, are also the basis for the work. Further, the project will apply and work with self-leadership and coaching. Recruitment and outreach activities as well as the importance of the boarding house and how to develop it are other parts of VÄGEN. During the course of the project, all participants, together with teachers and study counsellors, will work on a digital individual study and establishment plan. The project works with learning evaluation which will ensure that the project keeps pace and methodically works towards the goals. VÄGEN is primarily an application project of known and proven methods and working methods but which will land in a development of these. Folkbildningsrådet is the project owner in collaboration with folk high schools' interest organisations and 15 folk high schools from north to south in Sweden. The VÄGEN is conducted during the period 2023-2025 and is estimated to reach about 825 participants with equal distribution between women and men.
