My Future Stockholm

Through My Future, Save the Children and the City of Stockholm want to increase young people's (15-21 years) opportunities for long-term inclusion by completing studies, getting into or approaching work - through strengthened; empowerment, health, knowledge and networks. The aim of the project is through very close collaboration between civil society and municipalities and where young people's experience and expertise is central - provide preventive support to young people who are at risk of being in a situation without studies and work, and to provide complementary interventions, through psychosocial support, as well as coaching efforts to approach studies or work to young people who already have an intervention within KAA or Focus Youth. Young people need, and demand, support to feel better, become part of society and get a job. My Future is based on three interacting sub-goals to achieve sustainable establishment in the labour market and social inclusion in society: 1) Health & self-esteem, 2) Steps to complete studies and approach work 3) Knowledge and approach of different actors who meet the target group. Participants will be offered both group and individual support as it has shown to have the greatest effect, the working methods will be flexible and adapted based on the individual's needs and conditions. My Future is expected to result in improved health and self-esteem, more knowledge of the labour market, increased skills and larger networks that can lead to completion of studies or work. In the long term, the project is expected to increase the employment rate of young people and reduce social costs for young people in exclusion.
