The subject of the project is the adaptation and development of a post-mining gym building in the historic complex of the former "Julia" Coal Mine in Wałbrzych (building B2). The building, as well as the entire complex of the former KWK "Julia", is entered in the register of monuments by Decision No 356/A/1-14/04 of 17 September 2004. The aim of the project is to develop the post-mining and post-mining facility together with the restoration of biodiversity and to give it new social and economic functions (cultural, tourist, educational, recreational and leisure). The investment under the project will be implemented in the "design and build" formula. The material scope of the project includes the preparation of design documentation, investor supervision, carrying out construction works inside the building in the scope of the general construction industry, sanitary and electrical installations in accordance with the developed construction project, permission of the Provincial Conservator of Monuments and building permit, purchase of equipment (furniture equipment, equipment for the exhibition and exhibition-exhibition part, multimedia, lighting), promotion (information/memorial board, the Applicant's website www.um.walbrzych.pl, social media, placing logos on documents) and project management. As a result, the Wałbrzych Museum will be established in the building of the former gym of the historic KWK "Julia" in Wałbrzych. As a result of the project, an exhibition will be created in the building showing the interiors of the apartments, with passages on the path of sightseeing through the arranged street and fragments of a more traditional exhibition, with rich historical information and exhibits. The exhibition will be enriched with multimedia (in selected zones with sound and visual effects). The project also includes actions related to the restoration of biodiversity in the form of planting plants inside and outside the building. However, there are no complementary measures in relation to the use of RES. The project has developed a Functional and Utility Program, a preliminary concept for the development of the gym building of the former KWK "Julia" and a preliminary, positive opinion of the Provincial Lower Silesian Conservator of Monuments. The project requires obtaining a conservation decision - a permit to carry out construction works on monuments, as well as a decision on a building permit. The main socio-economic benefits of the project are: - increasing the attractiveness of the city of Wałbrzych in terms of tourism thanks to the increase in the quality and impact of the cultural offer, which translates into an increase in the number of tourists, - stimulating the professional and economic activity of the inhabitants of the city of Wałbrzych as a result of the development of local business related to tourism (e.g. catering, accommodation, retail trade, passenger transport), which translates into an increase in employment, increased turnover of enterprises and, as a consequence, higher revenues to the city budget, - improving the environmental condition of post-mining areas (improving the condition of ecosystems) and counteracting the greenhouse effect, which translates into an improvement in the health of the local community. The above actions and their effects are consistent with the objectives of the FEDS 2021-2027, in particular the objective FST.CP6.I, as they will contribute to mitigating the social, employment, economic and environmental impacts of the transition towards a climate-neutral EU economy, and with the environmental objective of the TPST, as they provide a coherent, transport-integrated, attractive, high-quality space for residents while respecting environmental resources. The applicant, the beneficiary and the entity responsible for implementing and implementing and maintaining the sustainability of the project is the Wałbrzych Municipality, a city with county rights. The operator of the co-financed infrastructure will be the Science, Culture and Art Centre "Old Mine in Wałbrzych" - a local government cultural institution. This project will not be implemented in partnership.
