Improving the functioning of public transport in the city of Włocławek by modernising the infrastructure accompanying public transport

The project consists in modernizing the stop infrastructure on the main street routes in the city of Włocławek, i.e. in the road lanes of Wronia, Okrzei, Bechi and Brzeska streets through the renovation of bays and platforms along with the replacement of stop shelters. The project covers six locations: Brzeska 01 [bus stop 18], Lunewil 02 [74], Lunewil 01 [104], Wronia-Wiadukt 02 [142], Wronia-Wiadukt 01 [173] and Centrum Kultury Browar B 02 [217]. Worn, destroyed bus shelters will be replaced with sheds equipped with illuminated display cases for timetables. Reconstruction of stop platforms will consist in their elevation and the use of stop system curbs. The platforms will be equipped with steering and warning elements for people with disabilities in the form of warning plates with round protrusions and directional-riffled plates in yellow. The designed pedestrian road (walkways, platforms) will be in gray, with a surface of concrete cube size 10x20 cm and a thickness of 6 cm, while the designed road surface (bay, bus stop) will be made of cement concrete C30/37 with distributed reinforcement. Currently, bus bays have a pavement of cement concrete and platforms pavement of concrete cube with deformed geometry. Streets within the stops will be finished with concrete curbs. The investment does not provide for the felling of trees and shrubs interfering with the newly designed road systems. Trees and shrubs will be planted in the road lanes of the above streets. In areas other than paved surfaces intended for traffic (road, pavements) husking will be carried out and a mixture of grasses will be planted. The project also includes the reconstruction of the bus loop at ul. Ostrowska in Włocławek, construction of a building for public transport and a vertical garden (with a supporting structure). The surface of the loop (bus stops) will be made of cement concrete, it will have a width of 3 m in two sections with a length of 20 and 50 m, with a total area of 266 m2. The pedestrian road (walkway and platform) with a total area of 248 m2 and a width of 1.5 m will be made of concrete cube with touch plate elements and system stop curbs. The building for public transport with a usable area of 10.87 m2 will be equipped with a social room for bus drivers enabling rest, i.e. for eating meals and a toilet. It will be a ready-made container, having the form of a glass cuboid covered with a flat roof covered with trapezoidal sheet in graphite color. The project provides for the use of existing water, sanitary and electrical connections. A 5-module shed with a vertical garden and supporting structure will be installed. The vertical garden will be planted with evergreen honeysuckle and vines, which show resistance to temperature. They will be planted in a retention and infiltration box, which will ensure both the supply of water to the plants and their excessive drainage, as well as protect them from frost. These plants will be supported by a structure based on steel posts made of bent profiles with a system fencing panel filled with spaces. The creation of a vertical garden will have a positive effect on the microclimate. The Municipality of Włocławek demonstrates the technical readiness of the project to be implemented, as it has the appropriate certificates and a building permit entitling it to start construction works in the above-mentioned locations. The scope of the project also includes an investment plan developed by an external contractor, project management, as well as information and promotion activities, i.e. the installation of seven boards informing about the co-financing of the project from the European Regional Development Fund and the publication of articles in the local press for the start and end of the project.
