Implementation of the project will enable ZSE students to gain additional qualifications required by employers. A graduate of a logistics technician usually starts his professional career from the lowest level, i.e. as a warehouse employee, whose key skill is handling a road trolley. Currently, in the city of Grudziądz there are several companies offering paid courses for handling wheelchairs, while the demand for this type of qualification among employees is high. Acquired qualifications while studying at school will allow to increase the competitiveness of graduates on the labour market. The acquired skills will be a response to the employers' demand for qualified staff serving logistics centers. Activities in the field of equipping workshops for practical apprenticeships were planned on the basis of the diagnosed school premises. The wheelchair course is a continuation of projects carried out so far under EU projects, including the project ‘Improving skills through the organisation of additional classes and cooperation with employers and retrofitting the workshops of the vocational schools in question in Grudziądz’, in which school pupils have the opportunity to take a wheelchair course organised by an external company. The course enjoys great interest, which proves the legitimacy of its conduct in the school.
