University Program for Eliminating Unfavorable Health Factors in the Workplace

The project is implemented on the basis of a programme containing an in-depth analysis developed by the Applicant as described in point. "Access Criterion C.7". Objective of the project: Improving working conditions, including strengthening competences related to the prohibition of discrimination and adapting the working environment taking into account the principles of ergonomics and eliminating identified health risk factors in the workplace for 70 employees (51 women, 19 men) of the University of Economics in Bydgoszcz (WSG), including 21 people over 50 years of age (15 women, 6 men), by 31 August 2026. The project is addressed to WSG and its 70 employees (51K, 19M), including 21 people over 50 years of age (15K, 6M). These are administrative employees working behind a desk 4 hours a day and more in the headquarters in Bydgoszcz and departments in Toruń and Inowrocław. Main product: support in the area of health in the elimination of identified health risk factors in the workplace for 70 working people (51K, 19M), including 21 people over 50 years of age (15K, 6M). In addition, the project assumes raising the knowledge of these employees regarding the prohibition of discrimination as part of eliminating barriers caused by negative stereotypes and discrimination, including on the basis of sexual orientation (crit. D.1). The number of people who, thanks to support in the area of health, took up work or continued employment will be 67 (48K and 19M) (the main result).The number of people supported in the form of improving the ergonomics of the workplace in total - 30 people. The main tasks are activities aimed at eliminating and minimizing workplace health risk factors resulting from occupational and environmental conditions, including training activities and organisational solutions, actions to reduce and eliminate health-damaging behaviour in the workplace and actions aimed at improving ergonomics and the working environment. In addition, workers will be rehabilitated for occupational risk-related illnesses and their mental health will be strengthened. These tasks are planned on the basis of an in-depth analysis of the occurrence of adverse health factors within the WSG and constitute a coherent and comprehensive employee support programme. As part of the project on health problems arising from workplace risks, it is planned to: - PHYSIOTHERAPEUTICAL ACTIVITIES: 280 hours of consultation and 1540 hours of physiotherapeutic treatments; - HEALTHY NUTRITION ACTIVITIES: 120 hours of dietitian/dietary advice; - STRENGTHENING THE POTENTIAL OF PHYSICAL HEALTH: 192 hours of consultation with a psychologist; - IMPROVE WORKING ERGONOMY, including replacement of 35 office chairs with ergonomics to alleviate problems associated with prolonged sitting in an incorrect position, purchase of 30 computer monitors for employees whose monitors do not have additional eye protection functions or the ability to adjust settings and ergonomic computer equipment; - VERIFICATION OF BARRIERS GRANTED BY NEGATIVE STEREOTYPS AND DISCRIMINATION, INCLUDING SEXUAL INDIVIDUALITY, through the implementation of 7 editions of the "Diversity in Higher Education" training courses, 5 hours each – a total of 35 training hours. INFORMATION ACTIVITIES - The description of the project will be posted on the website www.wsg.byd.pl under the tab "COMMITTED STUDENTS", which will meet the accessibility criteria for persons with disabilities and on the Applicant's social networks. During the promotional activities, the applicant will support equality between women and men by building information and promotional messages based on messages free from stereotypes (language, graphics, images). Information activities will be carried out in accordance with the rules of information and promotion applicable in the Programme.
