Family in the center Stage I

The ‘Family in the Centre’ (RWC) project will create a coherent and integrated system of assistance for families in the Kuj-Pom region (KPC), aimed at improving access to family support services and PZ, thus providing families with opportunities for better functioning in the future, deinstitutionalising (DI) support by moving to providing services in the local community and preventing the separation of the child from the family and placement in PZ. The participants of the project will be: foster families (RZ), natural families (RN), candidates for RZ, children and young people in foster care (PZ), independent PZ pupils, family assistants, staff of care and education facilities and day support, PZ family coordinators. The RWC project is the only possibility of comprehensive and specialized family support: adults and children. The offer of support is wide, specialized and available, in each district there is a Family Support Center. The goal is to strengthen the family, solve problems, i.e. prevent its disintegration (putting children outside the family). Thanks to cooperation with municipalities, and in particular family assistants, work with the family can begin at the moment of the first crises, and the possibility of providing specialist support allows for comprehensive and lasting strengthening of the family. The project also includes support for RZ – both carers and children staying in them. Workshops, specialist counselling, supervision, support groups, FASD therapy and diagnosis, courses and training improve the competences of childcare providers – often with specific needs. This allows raising the knowledge and competence of caregivers in caring for neglected children and after difficult crisis situations, and thus prevents the phenomenon of RZ resigning from participation in the PZ system in Poland. Support addressed to children allows for effective work with the consequences of difficulties that occurred in the family home, shaping attitudes and providing competences that allow for proper functioning in the future. Services in the environment addressed to children and young people will be implemented by extending the offer in day support facilities. In addition to direct support, the project implements educational activities addressed to the local community for the development of the RF PZ and strengthening the staff – increasing the competences of people holding the family PZ. Meetings with representatives of various institutions, services and residents of local communities increase public awareness of the family role of PZ and serve to recruit candidates for RZ. Qualifying courses implemented in the project increase the number of people authorized to perform the role of RZ. Thus, the project is part of activities related to DI and the development of services for residents carried out in the local environment. The services offered in the project will be implemented in accordance with the definition of services provided in the local community set out in the Guidelines for the implementation of projects with the participation of the European Social Fund Plus in regional programmes for 2021-2027. As part of the project, the following tasks will be carried out: 1. Support services for families, including RZ, 2. Actions to strengthen the process of emancipation of children and young people, 3. Development of environmental services, 4. Raising the competences and improving the family support staff and PZ, 5. Diagnostic and therapeutic activities in the area of FASD. Project indicators: Number of persons covered by family support services and PZ - 7 333; The number of places created in the programme for the provision of family support services and PZs existing after the end of the project – 300; The number of people who obtained qualifications after leaving the program - 200. The project will be implemented in the period from 01.01.2024-31.12.2026. Activities aimed at the development of family support services and foster care are in line with the RPDI.
