The main objective of the project is to reduce emissions of air pollutants and noise from the automotive sector in the Zielonogórsko-Nowosolskie Functional Area through the development of bicycle roads as a zero-emission means of transport within the framework of sustainable multimodal urban mobility. The need to implement the project results from the lack of a coherent, integrated system of bicycle routes, and thus the use of the bicycle as a daily means of transport. This, as a consequence, leads to the exclusion of communication, with particular emphasis on the elderly and those who do not have their own car. The investment consists in the construction of a bicycle path as part of the extension/reconstruction of roads Nos 3461F, 1434F and 1029F on the section Otyń-Niedoradz-Border of the District of Nowosolski- Zielona Góra (Zatonie). The length of the built paths is 12 km. The route runs through the municipalities of Nowa Sól-Miasto, Otyń and Miasto Zielona Góra. The implementation of the project is planned for the period from Q2. 2022 to Q4 2027. The investment is linked to the existing network of bicycle roads in the districts of Nowa Sól (the "Railway to Rower" path) and Zielona Góra. The implementation of the project results from Strategic Objective 2 of the ZNOF Strategy Development of technical infrastructure and spatial integration of the ZNOF area, 2.3. Development of transport network, communication systems and urban mobility. The joint effect of the planned activities will be to increase the level of communication of individual ZNOF towns and thus reduce the phenomenon of transport exclusion. The expansion of cycling paths and routes will contribute to the development of urban mobility and the creation of favourable conditions for "moving" from passenger cars to an environmentally friendly mode of transport, i.e. a bicycle. Thanks to this, it will be possible to reduce linear emissions and improve road capacity. Planned scope: Preparatory works for stage II Functional and Utility Programme, Feasibility Study, preparation of design documentation, Construction works for stages I and II: execution of a bicycle path (including in a closed PKP area in order to connect (drag) a bicycle path related to the project), reconstruction of PKP infrastructure, reconstruction of pavements, felling of trees and shrubs, execution of footbridges/passes, drainage, marking, land development along the path, investor supervision for stage II. Planned annual decrease in greenhouse gas emissions: 38.80 tonnes CO2-equivalent/year.
