As part of the project, the reconstruction of an animal shelter from the Zielona Góra-Nowosolskie Functional Area is planned. The investment includes the construction of a dormitory building from scratch and the reconstruction of the existing administrative and livestock building to the Humanitarian Education Centre, including the adaptation of the premises of the building where cats are staying to their needs. The doghouse building was designed as a two-storey non-basement building with a flat roof made in masonry technology, insulated. The facility will be equipped with an elevator adapted to transport people, including people with disabilities, dogs, food and equipment. As part of the work, new installations for the facility will be made: internal and external electricity, internal and external water supply, sanitary sewage system with rainwater connection, mechanical ventilation, central heating system - underfloor heating - heat source: air heat pump, electricity supply in the form of a 6.44 kWp photovoltaic system. The area around the building will be developed. A common catwalk for animals with elements of small architecture will be created, new plantings of trees, shrubs and low greenery will also be made. Cleaning works will be carried out in the immediate vicinity of the doghouse building and works related to the reconstruction of the fence at the location of temporary dog boxes, which, according to the assumption, will be used until the completion of the process of introducing dogs to the newly created facility. The doghouse building will also be fully equipped with the necessary accessories and equipment to care for the animals. The Centre for Humanitarian Education will be built in an existing administrative and inventory building adapted for this purpose. Currently, there are cats and dogs in this building. As part of the adaptation of the facility, there will be a reorganization of rooms for the purpose of keeping cats and for the use of rooms for educational purposes and for rooms related to the adoption process of the shelter's charges. New installations will be carried out: central heating, plumbing, electrical and ventilation and sanitary facilities will be adapted to people with disabilities. In addition, the following will be carried out: development of the area around the Humanitarian Education Center building, planting along the fence, and the area around the facility will be equipped with small architecture objects (including catwalk equipment for dogs). Administrative and office equipment and equipment for cat rooms will be purchased. As part of indirect costs, expenditure is planned for information and promotion activities, i.e. the installation of an information and memorial board on the project site. The part of the project concerning the construction from scratch of the doghouse building is in the process of being implemented. A building permit was obtained and a contract was concluded with the contractor on 19 June 2023. For the part of the project related to the adaptation of the existing building at the Center for Humanitarian Education, a construction project was developed and on On 7 October 2024, the construction works were notified.
