PhiloEco - implementation of innovations and ecological processes at PHILO

The company PHILO ANNA KOCIUGA deals with the design and sewing / production of clothing according to its own patterns. Women's clothing dominates the offer, but there are also proposals for men and children. Until now, clothing has been produced entirely from new materials ‘from scratch’, from design to serial production according to customer orders. The applicant (PHILO) has its own online shop available at: https://philonewyork.com/ . The aim of the project is to introduce new upcycling services for clothes and unused materials from previous productions. Upcycling is a fairly new trend, although known for decades. Previously, people reworked old clothes, but usually did not brag about it, while for several years upcycling has become one of the ecological trends more and more noticeable among consumers around the world and even got a name. Upcycling is a broadly understood processing of old clothes, which thus gain a second life and become a product of higher value. In other words, we can decorate clothes by sewing other materials or applications and embroidery. They can be stitched, stitched and transformed into another part of the wardrobe. PHILO has know-how in the specialist design and production of clothing, which will easily be transferred to new services and processes that have not been performed within the company so far. Philo company has its own pattern room and sewing room in which projects have been created for years under the constant control of the designer and constructor. As part of the desire to develop towards sustainability, the Applicant plans to buy clothes from consumers, clean them, repair and rework them, dye them, add their own PHILO accessories, and then sell them as refurbished in their online store or stationary. In this way, a new production process and a new product/service will be created for the company. The purchased clothes will have to undergo an ecological cleaning process, for which the company plans to use ecological detergents containing biodegradable ingredients, without phosphates and chlorine, as well as use essential oils in the cleaning process. When choosing eco-friendly laundry detergents that disinfect, kill bacteria and viruses at the same time, we will use products that combine cleaning effectiveness with minimal environmental impact. Examples of ecological detergents are: Ecover Zero, Seventh Generation Free & Clear, or Method Antibacterial The process of ecological cleaning as well as ecological dyeing will be a new process for the company, because until now clothes were sewn as in traditional clothing brands - only from new materials that did not require any cleaning. As part of the project, new products and services will also be created for the company: 1) Clothes purchased from customers, which after cleaning, repairing and fashion changes will be sold in the PHILO online store. Branded clothes matching the PHILO profile and those with potential for resale and “second life” will be purchased 2) Clothing repair service, i.e. the customer brings old clothes and PHILO cleans them ecologically, repairs them, makes fashion alterations, and then returns the refurbished product to the customer, charging a service fee. The new PhiloEco program Philo would like to develop is aimed at sustainability, promoting deconsumption and convincing consumers of second-hand fashion can be attractive. this road will not only help reduce waste and use of raw materials, but also build a positive image of the PHILO brand as responsible and environmentally conscious, which can attract new customers and increase the loyalty of current ones. The new vision of the brand will take into account environmental safety and intends to conduct campaigns for this purpose. As part of the project, it is planned to purchase machines and equipment needed to implement new processes and introduce new products and services to the offer. The target group is PHILO, which has the status of an SME.
