Changes currently taking place on the labour market, resulting primarily from demographic, structural and economic factors, condition the need to take effective actions for the professional activation of the unemployed, the quality of services provided by the office and shorten the time of customer service of the office. In order for these activities to be effective, it is necessary to create and ensure appropriate institutional and organisational conditions that will serve to take up employment in the region and implement preventive measures by providing organisational and human resources support. A growing part of the population faces the fact of being made redundant (often for reasons beyond the control of employees). These people need professional support from labour offices, whose role is invaluable at this very moment. PSZ employees play a special role here, and the quality of work and customer service should be largely considered as one of the measures of effectiveness of PUP activities in Zgierz. Therefore, tut. The Authority plans to implement a project to modernise and strengthen the PSZ PUP in Zgierz in order to assess and anticipate skills needs and provide timely and tailor-made support for labour market matching, transitions and mobility. The project falls within the scope of the above-mentioned intervention. The project is addressed to all employees of the local office. The support of PSZ employees was planned on the basis of a diagnosis of the needs of the local labour market. The target group of the project will be PSZ employees employed on the basis of employment contracts at the PLO in Zgierz. In accordance with the aim of the project, activities aimed at the professionalization of the staff of public employment services, i.e. training and postgraduate studies, will be implemented. The PLO in Zgierz intends to train 12 people and enable 4 employees to start postgraduate studies (three of whom will benefit from training earlier), including 1 person with disabilities and 1 older person (55+). Training for this group of people will contribute to the satisfaction of the unemployed with the quality of service and will set new tracks and tasks for employees so as to increasingly effectively support jobseekers and the unemployed, in particular those in vulnerable situations on the labour market. On the other hand, postgraduate studies will improve the service for clients of the local office. The knowledge gained during studies and trainings will help to solve the problems of the office's clients on an ongoing basis, as well as shorten the service time. The implementation of these two tasks will contribute to improving the quality of services provided in this office. Qualifications or competences acquired during training and postgraduate studies will have a direct impact on improving the effectiveness of services provided to clients of the Public Employment Services. Project participants will update their knowledge, which will contribute to the improvement of the quality of their work. In addition, 13 people are planned to gain qualifications or competences under the project. In the project, the PLO in Zgierz will take measures to promote equal opportunities for women and men by paying particular attention to ensuring that employees have the appropriate knowledge to carry out their tasks taking into account the principle of gender equality. Promoting the idea of gender equality among PLO employees in Zgierz, employers or other labour market partners will be done by: training in gender equality, the provision of information materials promoting the principle of gender equality, the use of equal language, the use of female forms, support and shaping of women’s managerial attitudes, and the avoidance of stereotypes. At each stage of the project implementation, the principle of equal opportunities for women and men and non-discrimination will be respected, including the availability of all employees of the office to carry out their tasks regardless of their gender, disability, etc.
