Development of sustainable public transport in the city of Lublin through the purchase of 9 buses

As part of the project, 9 plug-in hybrid buses (articulated 18m vehicles) and 2 mobile chargers will be purchased. The purchased vehicles will be used to operate the public transport network in Lublin. The purchased vehicles will replace the old and worn-out buses (on selected routes) from 2012 with EURO V combustion standards. The purchased rolling stock will be stationed in the Bus Depot at ul. A. Grygowa 56 in Lublin. Since the 1950s, the city of Lublin has been operating zero-emission trolleybuses as one of three cities in Poland. For several years, the city has been consistently developing trolleybus communication (modernization and extension of the overhead contact line, replacement of rolling stock), replacing worn-out buses with ecological vehicles meeting the highest combustion standards, and currently introducing electric and hybrid buses to public transport in order to extend the service of the city with zero-emission rolling stock to sections without overhead contact line, and preparing infrastructure for their charging. The planned investment will complement the activities of the transport organizer - IDTiM - in the development of electromobility in Lublin and aims to reduce emissions of harmful exhaust components into the atmosphere and reduce the operating costs of bus rolling stock by developing a zero-emission transport system, thanks to which the implementation of the project will enable the achievement of zero-emission and sustainable mobility. The purchase of new hybrid vehicles and the development of charging infrastructure is a step towards reducing CO2 emissions. In addition, Lublin is implementing the Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (SUMP) for the Lublin Metropolitan Area, which aims to improve the mobility process of residents by developing a coherent cycling infrastructure and investing in low- and zero-emission public transport. The chargers will be powered by electricity from a standard 3x400 VAC socket. The traction batteries of hybrid buses will be recharged during the night break of the buses at the depot, depending on the needs and the degree of their discharge, so that on the next day of operation of the buses the operation of the hybrid system will be the most effective and ecological. The connected charger will be moved on its wheels across the depot area so that it can handle parked buses
