The main objective of the partnership project: ‘Accessibility to social services in Chodl’ is the increase in the accessibility to social services of persons with disabilities in other non-urban areas. The project concerns the reconstruction of the former building of the School Complex in Chodl, with the change of use to an institution providing services in the local community in the form of a day care home (Pinokio Environmental Support Centre) and a Revalidation Clinic. The social assistance units located in the new infrastructure are aimed at taking actions for the health, education and happiness of people with intellectual disabilities, respecting their human rights, creating conditions for comprehensive development, a dignified life in an open society through charity, health care, social care, rehabilitation and reintegration of people with intellectual disabilities and their families and carers. The project is implemented by the District of Opole and the Association for People with Intellectual Disabilities in Poniatowa, which performs public services on its behalf. The investment is a form of achieving the statutory objectives of the Association. The project is addressed primarily to persons with disabilities, including those from the following categories: chronically ill (type A), intellectually disabled (type B), indicating other chronic mental disorders (type C) and autism spectrum disorders or conjugated disabilities (type D ). These people, as a result of impairment of certain bodily functions or adaptability, require assistance to live in a family and social environment, in particular to increase resourcefulness and life independence, as well as their social integration. The response to the needs of these people is the implementation of the project in question, which will allow increasing access to the offer of social services in the area of the Opole poviat.
