Implementation of elements of the green network for the City of Łęczna

The aim of the project is to protect the natural heritage and use its potential to develop sustainable tourism in the Łęczna commune. The project assumes the implementation of an investment consisting in activities related to: construction and development of tourism infrastructure and development of tourism and natural heritage facilities along with development of areas around the city of Łęczna. The implementation of the project will contribute to the development of areas of high natural, landscape and cultural value, constituting a high tourist attraction of the city of Łęczna. The project is located in the city of Łęczna, Łęczna commune, in the Lubelskie voivodship. The material scope of the project includes the following elements: - construction of pedestrian-bike bridges on the Wieprz and Świnka rivers - lighting - construction of a canoe marina with infrastructure in the vicinity of Lubelska Street, - construction of a nature path with resting places on peat grounds in the south-eastern part of the municipality and the city of Łęczna, - indirect costs - promotion and project management. The project was entered under the heading: Annex 1 to the Strategy for the Development of the Lublin Metropolitan Area by 2030 - Project fiches under the ITI Instrument in the European Funds for Lublin Programme 2021-2027, Project fiches Measure 11.2 Protection of natural heritage, security and sustainable development of tourism in urban areas and their functional areas under the ITI MOF: (p. 230). The implementation of the project results from the analysis of demand and the assessment of residents' needs. The survey was conducted as part of the Diagnosis of the social, economic and spatial situation of the Łęczna Commune. The survey was addressed to the residents of the municipality. The main objective of the study was to collect the opinions of the residents of the Łęczna Commune on the quality of life, potentials and directions of development of the commune. The survey reflects the real socio-economic needs of local government during the implementation of the Development Strategy of the Łęczna Commune for 2022-2030. In addition, a research tour was organised on 30 June 2023: MARKET II →WINE TREATMENT (ULICA LUBELSKA)→WINE TREATMENT (Length of the PIESZO-ROWER PATH)→TRANSCRIPTION AT THE AMFITEATER. The implementation of this project has been carefully coordinated with other investments in the region to avoid duplication and inefficient spending of public funds, to complement existing tourism and leisure infrastructure and to ensure complementarity with other projects in the metropolitan area (therefore there is no risk of overlap and competition). The project does not duplicate activities carried out in neighbouring municipalities or within Łęczna. The project includes free public infrastructure. The project ‘Implementation of elements of the green network for the City of Łęczna’, in conjunction with other complementary projects at both local and regional level, stimulates tourism activity in the region by taking advantage of the landscape and natural attractiveness of the environment, which is the basis for tourist arrivals related to active qualified tourism, ecotourism, agritourism and leisure tourism. This will help to create a common and comprehensive tourist offer for LOM municipalities, taking into account natural resources and natural heritage, as well as tourist and road infrastructure. Łęczna will gain a new, comprehensive tourist offer, which will be attractive for families, seniors, people practicing sports and nature lovers. The new infrastructure will become an incentive to organize sports and recreational events, such as kayaking, cycling rallies, Nordic walking. The possibility of combining water, cycling and hiking tourism will increase the attractiveness of the region for both individual tourists and organized groups.
