Subject of the project - equipping the TSO Płock – Trzepowo with a modern rescue and firefighting car with equipment and carrying out a promotional and educational action on the subject of adaptation to climate change. The scope of the project includes the purchase of a new medium-sized rescue and firefighting car with equipment for the needs of the TSO Płock - Trzepowo - Voluntary Fire Brigade unit belonging to the National Firefighting and Rescue System and a promotional educational campaign on climate change and water resources protection and information and promotion activities. The project is non-infrastructural, will be implemented in one stage, does not require obtaining administrative decisions. The beneficiary shall have a specification of the technical parameters of the vehicle to be purchased. Main objective: Increasing the resilience of Płock to climate change and improving the safety of residents in the event of extreme weather phenomena and natural disasters by 2025 Specific objectives 1.Development of the response and rescue system for people and property in Płock 2.Raising public climate awareness of residents of Płock 3.Increasing the preparedness and ability of residents to respond to the effects of climate change The project assumptions fit directly into the European Funds for Mazovia 2021-2027 programme, Priority II, Action 2.4 Adaptation of climate change. The project responds to the identified need of the city of Płock to improve the safety of residents in relation to disasters caused by climate change. The analyses developed as part of the Climate Change Adaptation Plan for Płock show that the main climate threats in the city include: increase in the value and number of days with maximum air temperature, increase in the frequency of heat waves, occurrence of floods from rivers, occurrence of landslides. These phenomena pose a serious threat to the proper functioning of the city and the health and life of its inhabitants – the main problem of the project. Specific problems: - unsuitable potential of emergency services against extreme weather events or natural disasters - low climate awareness of society, especially in terms of everyday habits reducing human impact on global warming and protecting the natural environment - insufficient readiness of residents to cope with the effects of climate change and respond appropriately to violent weather phenomena. OSP Płock – Trzepowo was established in 1947 and is located in Płock in the immediate vicinity of PKN ORLEN SA. The scope of operation of the TSO is the municipal municipality (KRYT.MERYT). In 1995, it was included in the National Rescue and Firefighting System. In 2010 a new guard was built. The TSO has 3 rescue and firefighting vehicles (including 1 medium and 1 heavy) – the average age of vehicles (medium and heavy) is 24 years (CRYT. MERYT). During the last calendar year, the unit carried out nearly 150 rescue and firefighting operations, including fires - 16, local hazards - 132 and false alarms - 2 (KRYT.MERYT). The number of firefighters of the TSO rescuers with the required training is 15 people, 12 people - has a school. in the field of technical rescue, 6 people - has a qualified first aid course KRYT.MERYT). In total, the number of TSO's bridesmaids and bridesmaids is 39 people. The unit covers NATURA 2000 areas, landscape park and protected landscape areas (CRYT.MERYT). OSP Płock-Trzepowo carries out organizational work related to the reactivation of the Youth Fire Team. The project responds to the identified problems both in terms of equipping the TSO unit with modern rescue and firefighting equipment and environmental education of the Płock community. The project provides for a promotional educational campaign in the field of knowledge about climate change and the protection of water resources. Description of activities in point G1 – Task 2.
