The state of equipment of the TSO in Siedlin is insufficient to carry out rescue and firefighting operations that reduce the risk associated with natural disasters and catastrophes in the district. In the last calendar year preceding the date of submission of the application for co-financing, the TSO Siedlin entered in the KSRG carried out 121 rescue and firefighting operations related to trips according to the following types of threats: 28 - fires, 88 - places of danger, 5- false alarms according to the data of the District Fire Brigade Headquarters in Płońsk. Currently, the unit uses only one heavy rescue and fire-fighting vehicle, which is 26 years old, i.e. more than 15 years old (year of production at the date of submission of the application according to the registration certificate - 1997). The TSO also does not have any medium-sized rescue/extinguishing car in stock. Therefore, it is appropriate to implement this project in order to reduce the above-mentioned problem. The main objective of the project is therefore to supplement and improve the equipment of the Siedlin TSO unit in the Płońsk commune by purchasing one heavy rescue and firefighting car with full equipment for the purposes of natural disaster management. As part of the project, promotional educational activities in the field of knowledge about climate change and protection of water resources will be additionally carried out as a complementary element of the project. The educational activity will be implemented through four tools of the information campaign, i.e. - meeting with the local community, - electronic materials - articles in the local press and broadcast on the local radio, - campaign in schools and kindergarten. In addition, the project will carry out an information and promotional activity of the project integrally related to its implementation, i.e. the purchase of information and commemorative plaques and the marking of the purchased fixed asset. The following specific objectives will also be achieved through the implementation of the project: - improving the safety of residents of the Płońsk Commune, - improving the working conditions of TSO staff in Siedlin, - reducing emissions of harmful compounds to the environment, thanks to less exhaust gas consumption from obsolete equipment used for rescue and firefighting operations by TSO Siedlin. - raising the standard of rescue and firefighting services provided, - improving the image of the Płońsk Commune and the county, - reducing the incidence of diseases in the population due to the improvement of the air, - increasing awareness among residents of climate change and the protection of water resources. This project will directly contribute to FEM 2021-2027 specific objective 2(iv) “promoting climate change adaptation and disaster risk prevention, as well as resilience, taking into account an ecosystem-based approach”. In addition, the project, in accordance with the FEM 2021-2027, is part of the implementation of the Strategic Adaptation Plan for sectors and areas sensitive to climate change until 2020 with a perspective until 2030 through the implementation of Goal 4. Strategy – Ensuring sustainable regional and local development taking into account climate change. The TSO Siedlin unit covered by the project is located in the rural municipality of Płońsk. The activities of the supported TSO unit include, at the date of submission of the grant application, a Natura 2000 site, i.e. ‘Aleja Pachnicowa’. The Volunteer Fire Brigade in Siedlin (OSP Siedlin) belongs to the National Rescue and Fire Extinguishing System on the day of submitting the application. The project was planned to be implemented in 2023-2024. In 2023, it is planned to prepare and launch a tender for the purchase of a heavy fire-fighting and rescue car with full equipment and the purchase of services in order to carry out the remaining tasks in the project related, inter alia, to the promotion of the project and the conduct of promotional educational activities. The project is scheduled to be completed by the end of May 2024.
