Development of urban mobility through the construction of bicycle routes in the municipalities of Grodzisk and Pruszków districts

The project, which will be implemented under Priority III of the European Funds for the development of urban mobility in Mazovia Action 3.2 Urban mobility in ITI will result in the improvement of the quality of life of the inhabitants of the areas covered by the project with the completion of the investment. The main objective of the project is to improve air quality by reducing pollutant emissions caused by individual cars. Specific objectives: • Reduction of CO2 and PM10 emissions • Reduction of traffic noise • Reduction of traffic volume in the area covered by the project and indirectly RWS • Shifting of individual motorised traffic towards cycling and public transport • Diversification of transport modes • Increasing the transport and communication cohesion of the province • Improving cyclist safety The objectives will be achieved by 31.12.2026, measured by specific output indicators and in the following year by result indicators. The project fits in with the specific objective FEM CS 2(viii) to support sustainable multimodal urban mobility as part of the transition towards a zero-emission economy. The type of project concerns the infrastructure necessary for the use of forms of individual active mobility – the construction of cycle paths. The relationship to the strategic documents was presented in the Study. The lack of adaptation of urban areas to growing traffic is an increasingly visible problem, and the growing number of individual road users translates into increasing air pollution, increased noise levels, vibrations and longer journey times. Retrofitting the bicycle infrastructure system will translate into increased interest in using this type of transport methods. The implementation of the planned sections will increase the consistency and continuity of cycling routes, significantly increasing the level of capacity of the bicycle network used for transport purposes. The objectives of the project were defined on the basis of the diagnosed needs of residents of the districts of Grodzisk and Pruszków regarding shortages in the currently functioning bicycle infrastructure system. The most common inconveniences were: • Inconsistency of the cycle road network, •The bicycle road system is not linked to the public transport system, making it impossible to change to the train/PKS, • Difficulties in using the paths - poor layout, frequent intersections, • Low safety for users of the paths, • Lack of accompanying infrastructure such as: bicycle parking lots, stands, service points, The construction of paths will significantly improve the quality of connections of the transport system of the entire Warsaw Capital Region. Improving the accessibility and territorial cohesion of the region and shaping spatial governance will have an indirect impact on the competitiveness of the region's economy, job creation and population migration. Synthesis of the project: Number of units-3 of the commune, two counties/ territorial coverage of at least 4 communes RWS Number of sections- 17 Length of routes- 14 km Number of connections with existing routes- 18 Number of connections with transport hubs- 2 Number of fields from the facility used publ - 29 Accompanying infrastructure in the project- lighting, shelters and bicycle racks, service point, supports for cyclists, zone of calmed traffic TEMPO 30, separation of pedestrian spaces, rides for cyclists. The number of inter-municipal connections - Nadarzyn Commune, Raszyn The scale of the positive impact of the project was divided into the most important areas: 1. Social impact: a) improving the quality of life of society by improving air quality b) reducing traffic congestion and separating car and bicycle traffic c) promoting the use of bicycles as a means of transport that does not pollute the environment. 2. Economic effects: a) Increasing the attractiveness of municipalities in terms of investment
