Adaptation of Legionary public schools to the needs of people with special educational needs

The project aims to increase the availability of three primary schools, generally accessible in the Municipality of Legionowo: Janusz Kusociński Primary School No 3, 05-120 Legionowo, ul. Władysław Broniewski 7, Primary School No. 7 in VII Oblast "Obroża" AK at School and Preschool Complex No. 3, 05-120 Legionowo, ul. Queen Jadwiga 7 and Primary School No. 8 of the 1st Warsaw Infantry Division, 05-119 Legionowo, ul. Zegrzyńska 3 by adapting them to the needs of people with special needs, during the project implementation period, i.e. 05.06.2024-31.12.2025. The main objective will be achieved through specific objectives: 1. Modernization of the infrastructure of 3 school buildings through the installation of lifts and ramps for SPE people. 2. Provide adequate equipment and technologies supporting teaching tools tailored to the needs of pupils with special educational needs in the schools covered by the project, which translates into an increase in the efficiency of teaching pupils with SPE. The above objectives are consistent with the objective of the FEM: Specific objective 4(ii) improve equal access to quality and inclusive services in education, training and lifelong learning through the development of accessible infrastructure, including by fostering resilience in distance and online education and training. In terms of the architectural area, the project is part of the activities aimed at implementing the standard of infrastructure preparation in terms of accessibility for students, teachers, parents and members of the local community from the SPE, while in terms of the technical area, the implementation of the standard determining the availability of individual rooms and their equipment. All activities undertaken in the project will be aimed at increasing the accessibility of schools to the needs of people with SPE, both architectural and technical changes related to the purchase of specialized equipment. Thanks to the implementation of the project, students requiring support will have access to individual help, educational and exercise materials and equipment that takes into account their individual needs. Scope of the project: 1. Preparation of documentation – functional and utility programme and feasibility study. 2. Carrying out the procedure for selecting the contractor in the ‘design-build’ formula. 3. Execution of a lift shaft and installation of a passenger crane in the indicated schools. In the case of Primary School No. 3 and No. 7, an integral part of the investment will be the construction of an external driveway for people with disabilities in the area of the main entrance. 4. Purchase of equipment as a complementary element of the project enabling multidimensional work of specialists with SPE students, as well as taking into account the need for therapy of students with the most commonly diagnosed disorders and disabilities. The project is in line with the Integrated Territorial Investment Strategy for the Warsaw metropolis 2021-2027+ with Objective 1. Improving the quality and accessibility of educational services, orientation 1.2. Adapting schools to the needs of people with SPE and equipping schools with modern infrastructure. Integrated approach: the implementation of the project will ensure the improvement of the accessibility of the teaching infrastructure to the needs of people from the SPE, and ultimately will have an impact on the harmonisation of access to educational services provided in the RWS area.
