Tailor-made - development of infrastructure for deinstitutionalised support for dependent persons in the Municipality of Kraków

The project assumes the implementation of an investment carried out in two locations aimed at launching 2 new facilities in the Municipality of Kraków providing daily and 24-hour, short-term care and activation for dependent people (64 new places, including 9 24-hour, short-term care). The project is addressed to dependent residents of Krakow who, due to their age, health condition or disability, require care or support due to the inability to independently perform at least one of the basic activities of everyday life and their actual carers. The implementation of the project will allow to provide support ensuring the maintenance of an optimal psychophysical state, maintaining independence and activity in order to counteract the worsening of dysfunctions related to the aging process and/or disability. Based on the PFU at ul. Golikówka is planned to build a facility along with land development. The building will have 3 floors with an area of 667.14 m2. Support will be provided for 35 people with mental disorders, including 5 places of stay 24 hours a day. A centre for people with conjugate disabilities and people on the autism spectrum. The building includes, among others, a meeting room, a dining room, a room for supporting activities, activation and therapy, individual therapy, counselling, a light experience room, a treatment and nursing room, a rest room, 24-hour rooms and utility and social rooms (bathrooms, cloakrooms, laundries, warehouses). Investment at ul. The Red Generator, in accordance with the PFU, includes the reconstruction, extension and superstructure of the existing service and hotel building along with the change of use to the function of a support center, including the demolition of fragments of the existing building and elements of development. After the investment, the building will have 3 floors with an area of 380.30 m2, where support will be provided for 29 dependent people, including 4 places of stay 24 hours a day. It will serve as a specialized support center mainly for people with a significant and moderate degree of disability, the elderly, with accompanying diseases, e.g. neurodegenerative disorders (Alzheimer and other forms of dementia), balance disorders, motor dysfunctions, conditions after strokes, diabetes, hypertension, ischaemic heart disease, COPD, visual disorders, hearing disorders. The building includes, among others, a meeting room, a dining room, a room for movement therapy, reminiscent therapy, a psychologist's room / counseling room / individual therapy, a quiet room, a medical room, a room for support activities, activation and occupational therapy, rooms for 24-hour stay and utility and social rooms (kitchen, bathrooms, warehouses, cloakrooms).The scope of both investments in the design and build mode includes the entire implementation of design and construction works, connections, finishing, equipment and land development. Buildings will be available architecturally. Equipment necessary for proper functioning will be purchased, adapted to the needs of the elderly, with disabilities, mental disorders. It is planned to purchase 2 specialized electric passenger cars, adapted to transport 7 people with disabilities, including one in a wheelchair (a total of 14 people at a time), in accordance with the technical capabilities of the vehicle. The purchase of cars will increase the availability of services, provide flexibility when due to the health situation it is necessary to urgently drive the participant. According to the ‘Model of facilities providing daily care in Małopolska’, the centres should provide transport for participants, especially people who, due to diseases, show difficult behaviours (aggression, self-aggression), transport is necessary taking into account the specific needs of the participant.
