The project assumes the improvement of the quality of vocational education in key professions for Krakow and professions that will be important in the future in the ITI for students through the development of the Vocational Competence Centre (understood as the CKZiU referred to in Article 93 of the Education Law Act or another team created by schools / institutions analogous to the CKZiU and performing its tasks). The project is in line with the adopted ITI strategy for 2021-2027. The development of selected schools in the mechanical, electrical-electronic and gastronomic-tourist industries is assumed. The project assumes the continuation of the functioning of CKZ in key industries for Krakow and the so-called professions of the future based on schools and vocational education institutions with the greatest didactic potential for a given industry in the ITI area. According to the 2024 Occupational Barometer, the mechanical, electrical and electronic industries are industries in which there is a very high demand among employers for employees with appropriate qualifications. Difficulties in recruiting suitable employees result from many, often coexisting problems, i.e. demographic changes or lack of education in the profession. From the perspective of employers, persistent staff shortages over the years are a big problem. In the face of a permanent shortage of candidates, they are often unable to fill vacancies, which limits the development of companies and in extreme cases leads to a narrowing of activities. It is worth noting that in some professions, not only does the deficit persist in subsequent years, it is still gaining strength. This is the case, for example, for qualified railway workers. In connection with the development of railway infrastructure in Poland and large-scale investments carried out from projects such as: Programmes of European Funds, there is a growing demand for qualified railway workers. Rail transport is widely considered to be the most promising in terms of reducing emissions and environmental nuisance. Due to the fact that Krakow is a city in which the number of tourists is increasing from year to year, the demand for the development of the catering, hotel and photographic industries is also growing, and thus the demand for employees in this industry is growing. In order to acquire skills, improve the qualifications of students leaving vocational schools in search of work, competence courses, qualification courses and internships will be implemented as part of the project. Retrofitting the studio through the purchase of teaching aids is necessary for the implementation of courses that are aimed at improving the competences and qualifications of students. Target group: pupils of schools and vocational institutions which became part of the CKZ from the ZIT area. The CPC will implement: courses/training for pupils, traineeships/apprenticeships for pupils with employers. The forms and scope of support were planned based on the diagnosis of needs carried out in schools. The support will be implemented on the basis of CKZ's technical and didactic base, qualified staff and specialists of external companies. The project provides for classes in the field of preventing violence, discrimination or inequality, which will be implemented by Psychological and Pedagogical Clinics operating in Krakow. These facilities will be provided by the Municipality of Kraków with financial resources for the tasks in question. In addition, the Specialist Psychological and Pedagogical Clinic entitled The Krakow Career Centre is implementing a project entitled: ‘Pathway to a career’, where vocational school pupils can receive career guidance free of charge. In addition, it is planned to use the infrastructure of Małopolska institutions popularizing science and innovation for educational purposes. The main results of the project will be the acquisition by students of competences and professional qualifications in industries crucial for the ITI area.
