airPoles - innovative family of lighting poles

The project includes a R&D module. The solution responds to the problem of high dependence of outdoor lighting on electricity from the cable network, its extensive infrastructure, rising energy costs, installation restrictions and adverse environmental impact. The result of the R&D module is a PRODUCT INNOVATION on an international scale in the form of an independent from external power supply family of chimney lighting poles (EKOINNOWACJA) with novelty features: 1) Original design - the use of an empty, internal pole structure to mount a flow-through air turbine driving an electric generator generating electricity using the chimney thrust effect. 2) Ability to generate the renewable energy needed to power the lighting without having to install photovoltaic panels and wind turbines outside the pole. 3) Minimizing the emergency stockpile. 4) No additional external elements of the pole necessary for energy production (solar panels, wind turbines on the pole). 5) Noise reduction. 6) No need to clean the pole using specialized equipment (lifter) and qualified staff. 7) No need to dispose of photovoltaic cells and related economic and environmental costs. 8) No impact on the landscape. The price of the Applicant's poles with the above-mentioned novelty features will ensure high competitiveness on the market. The result will be directed to the international market. The main groups of recipients are contractors in the field of road and public construction, building wholesalers (including electric ones), individual customers and companies from the Valmont Industries capital group. The results of the R&D works will be implemented in the Applicant’s business activity by introducing a new family of ‘airPoles’ lighting poles to the commercial offer and starting their production using the Applicant’s infrastructure facilities (implementation outside the project).
