EEG and Machine Learning: Automatic diagnosis of psychiatric disorders

The aim of the project is to create a machine learning algorithm that classifies mental disorders based on electroencephalographic data (EEG). The key resources we have are: a prototype algorithm for processing EEG data and automatic classification of a selected psychiatric disorder and a large, well-described unique EEG clinical database (over 13,000 patients). In addition, the team has experience in the application of machine learner algorithms and expertise in EEG analysis. Thanks to the combination of these factors, we have a chance to create a unique algorithm that will help in the work of psychiatrists and will have a significant impact on the mental health of society. Our business partner ELMIKO BIOSIGNALS sp. z o.o. has a dominant position in the sale of clinical EEG systems on the Polish market. ELMIKO BIOSIGNALS sp. z o.o. is interested in the possible incorporation of the algorithm into the software of the hardware they sell. Such a process would give a very fast path of commercialization of the algorithm.
