Energy modernisation of the RZD SGGW administrative building in Żelazna

The aim of the project is to increase the energy efficiency of the administrative building of the Agricultural Experimental Plant of the Warsaw University of Life Sciences in Żelazna by carrying out works in the field of energy modernisation of the historic building. The former palace of Aleksander Mazaraki in Żelazna, currently occupied by the Agricultural Experimental Plant of the WULS-SGGW, is under conservation protection on the basis of entry in the register of immovable monuments under No 596 of 28 July 1983. The building is used by the employees of the WULS-SGGGW RZD - primarily the administration, and to a lesser extent or seasonally also students of the university, as well as employees responsible for agricultural production of the WULS-SGGGW. The planned investment will lead to savings in energy consumption, bringing optimization of energy consumption costs. In addition, air quality will be improved by reducing pollutant emissions associated with the production of thermal energy, necessary for the proper functioning of a public building. Achieving the main objective of the project is possible through the achievement of specific objectives defined as follows: • increasing the use of renewable energy sources through the installation of a heat pump, • reducing greenhouse gas emissions and other pollutants entering the atmosphere as a result of reduced heat consumption. • improving the comfort of use of the building by employees of RZD SGGW, as well as other users of the facility, • reducing the operating costs of the building – expenditure on thermal energy. • raising local public awareness of the green and green transitions. The energy renovation project of the public administration building will include the following activities: - modernisation of the heating system, - replacement of the heat source with a heat pump, - insulation of the ceiling over rooms heated with mineral wool, - insulation of the walls above the ground (in accordance with the preliminary arrangements of the WUOZ) with thermal insulation plasters, - insulation of the external walls in the ground with insulation boards, - replacement of the old window frames and windows from PVC profiles with new wood, while maintaining divisions, dimensions and shape, - replacement of the external door frames with a new one with increased insulation parameters while maintaining/reproducing the original appearance, - insulation of the ceiling over the unheated basement, - insulation of the terrace above the conservatory from the bottom of the structure, - replacement of electrical wiring carried out in the external walls planned for warming. The project also provides for additional activities not resulting from the energy audit (purchase of nesting boxes for birds, purchase of houses for insects, purchase of an electric staircase for the disabled, training services on improving energy efficiency and renewable energy sources, development of greenery around the building). The project also includes investor supervision for construction works, preparatory works including the development of design documentation, ex-ante audit and nature inventory, as well as the development of ex-post audit and indirect costs. Information and promotion measures will be implemented as part of ineligible expenditure.
