Sustainable Rainwater Management Systems in Gdańsk

The main objective of the project is: ‘Sustainable Rainwater Management Systems in Gdańsk’ is: ‘Increase the adaptation of the city of Gdańsk to extreme meteorological events, in particular heavy rainfall, by adapting to changing climatic conditions, by increasing rainwater retention, expanding the rainwater sewerage system and building blue green infrastructure.’ The main objective is directly linked to the objective of measure 1.2. Priority I FEnIKS: ‘Fostering climate change adaptation and disaster risk prevention, as well as resilience, taking into account an ecosystem-based approach’. The material scope of the Project includes: • Preparatory work (documentation preparation) • Construction work: - Task 1 – Reconstruction of the drainage system on the site of the former rolling stock repair works (ZNTK) in Gdańsk; - Activity 2 - Construction of rainwater sewage system with a sealed retention and evaporation tank at ul. Ostrzycka in Gdańsk; - Task 3 – Reconstruction of reservoir No 11 on the Oliwa stream - Water Forge in Gdańsk; - Task 4 - Reconstruction of the Kowalski stream along with the construction of the K2 retention reservoir on the Kowalski stream in Gdańsk; - Task 5 – Strzyża Stream Relief Channel – Phase II; - Task 6 – Construction of the Rudniki pumping station at ul. Profession in Gdańsk; - Task 7 – Reconstruction of the pumping station Płonia Mała; - Task 8 – Construction of emergency overflows from reservoir No 2 on the Oliwa stream in Gdańsk; - Task 9 – Construction of a footbridge over the Oliwa stream between the city park and the building at ul. Pomorskie 94; - Task 10 - Adaptation of the building at ul. Kartuska 32/34 in Gdańsk for the Gdańsk Benefit Centre (GCŚ), including technical infrastructure and land development; • Investor and author supervision; • Project management; • Information and promotion activities. The Municipality of the City of Gdańsk will undertake the following information, promotion and education activities as a beneficiary, i.e.: • Marking visibly with the European Funds sign, the colours of the Republic of Poland and the EU sign: all information and publicity measures, documents and materials related to the project. • Placing a description of the Project on the Applicant's website. • Placing permanent information boards in the places where the Project is implemented;. • Organising a family picnic promoting the project for residents and invited guests. • Placing a description of the Project on the Applicant's social media pages. • Preparation of an educational brochure describing the aim of the Project and the scope of the implemented tasks in the context of climate change. • Placing educational boards describing the objective of the Project and the scope of the implemented task in the context of climate change in two locations of the Project implementation. Activity 1: holds a building permit of 04.11.2022, Task 2:building permit (decision of the Mayor of the City of Gdańsk of 23.12.2019), Task 3: the building permit is in the process of obtaining: it is planned to obtain this decision by 01.06.2025. Task 4: the building permit is in the process of obtaining: it is planned to obtain this decision by 01.06.2025, Task 5: building permit is in the process of being obtained – an application for a permit was submitted on 13.11.2023, it is planned to obtain a building permit by 01.03.2024, Task 6:building permit (Decision No 45/2022/WJ of the Pomeranian Voivode of 20.4.2022, Task 7: building permit (Decision of the Mayor of Gdańsk of 31.12.2021, Task 8: building permit (Decision No 144/2021/WJ of the Governor of Pomorskie Province of 20 September 2021, Task 9: a building permit is in the process of being obtained – an application for permits was submitted on 01.09.2023 and 07.11.2023, it is planned to obtain a building permit by 01.03.2024. Task 10: Construction permit (Decision of the Mayor of the City of Gdańsk of 29.04.2020.
