Implementation of a sustainable rainwater and meltwater management system adapted to climate change in the City of Gliwice, taking into account nature-based solutions and a digital system of work visualization and data collection.

The project involves the implementation of a sustainable rainwater and meltwater management system adapted to climate change in the City of Gliwice, taking into account green blue infrastructure solutions and a digital system of work visualization and data collection. The aim of the Project is to increase the resilience of the city of Gliwice to climate change by developing a sustainable rainwater management and retention system, conscious management of rainwater flow based on monitoring data and promoting green-blue infrastructure solutions. Increasing awareness that rainwater is not a threat, but a valuable resource of the environment - increasing the resilience of the city's infrastructure to climate change - protecting residents and their property against the effects of heavy rainfall - increasing the share of green-blue infrastructure - increasing retention capacity, thanks to which there will be an increase in the use of rainwater and meltwater - improving the microclimate, reducing the occurrence of an urban heat island - preventing the discharge of pollutants to receivers - better control of the effects of extreme phenomena - improving the quality of the environment, creating places conducive to maintaining biodiversity - promoting and stimulating proper behavior of residents by disseminating the idea of rainwater management as close as possible to the place where rain falls The scope of the works implemented in the project includes the following tasks and activities: I.
