Improvement of water and wastewater management in the Starogard Gdański agglomeration

The Starogard Gdański agglomeration was designated by Resolution No XV/168/2019 of the Starogard Gdański City Council of 30 October 2019 on the liquidation of the existing Starogard Gdański agglomeration and the designation of the Starogard Gdański agglomeration with a population equivalent (p.e.) of 53 450, with a waste water treatment plant in Starogard Gdański, whose area includes the city of Starogard Gdański and towns located in the Starogard Gdański rural commune: Barchnowy, Kolincz, Klonów At the time of designation of the Starogard Gdański agglomeration, the degree of sewerage of the agglomeration was: 95.14 %, indicating that almost 2,484 inhabitants discharge sewage into backyard reservoirs, which often do not ensure tightness. The Starogard Gdański agglomeration does not meet the first condition of compliance with the Wastewater Directive, therefore it is necessary to implement the project. The project provides for the construction of 17,4667 km of sewage network and 8 sewage pumping stations in the Starogard Gdański Agglomeration and an increase of 1 870 p.e. The material scope was adopted, which was divided into the following tasks: 1) Construction of sanitary, gravitational and discharge sewerage network with sewage pumping along with accompanying infrastructure in the area of ul. Kraziewicz, Milewski, Schulz, Falkowski, Rolna, Rebelki in Starogard Gdański 2) Construction of sanitary sewerage network in the following streets: ul. Gusowski, Selmanowicz Zagończyk, Sosabowski, Cursed Soldiers in Starogard Gdański 3) Construction of a sewage network in Skośna, Lubichowska, Korytybska and Zielna streets in Starogard Gdański 4) Construction of a gravity-pressure sewage network with sewage pumping stations and associated infrastructure within the village of Okole - Krąg - Linowiec. The entire network covered by the application for funding is a sewage network within the meaning of the Act of 7 June 2001 on the collective supply of water and waste water – sewage ducts together with equipment and devices discharging waste water. Connections, i.e. sections of the pipe connecting the internal sewage system in the property of the recipient of services to the sewage network, behind the first well, counting from the side of the building, and in the absence of it to the boundary of the land property, do not occur within the material scope of the project. In accordance with the adopted design solutions, sanitary wastewater from all towns from the Starogard Gdański agglomeration will flow to the wastewater treatment plant in Starogard Gdański. Design capacity of the waste water treatment plant [WWTP]: 70 000. - Waste water entering the sewage network [m3/d]: 8 970 m3/d - Incoming waste water [m3/d]: 222 m3/d - Average treatment plant load [m3/d]: 9 192 m3/d - Amount of waste water treated in the previous year [m3/year]: 3 355 000 m3 Contaminant indicators BOD5 [mgO2/l] ≤ 15 (Value or % reduction according to the water permit) - average achieved value - 7,08 ChZTCr [mgO2/l] ≤ 125 (Value or % reduction according to the water permit) - average achieved value - 45,42 Total suspension [mg/l] ≤ 35 (Value or % reduction according to the water permit) - average achieved value - 9,22 Total nitrogen [mgN/l] ≤ 15 (Value or % reduction according to the water permit) - average achieved value - 8,23 Total phosphorus [mgP/l] ≤ 2 (Value or % reduction according to the water permit) - average achieved value 0,65 Agglomeration due to the projected efficiency of the Wastewater Treatment Plant and good results of the cleaned wastewater tests of the project will meet all the conditions of the wastewater directive.
