The main objective of the project is to build a new transmission network with energy storage, implement energy-efficient technological solutions in the area of modernization of the transmission network and modernization of thermal nodes to reduce primary energy consumption in the district heating system. The expansion of the district heating network will enable the connection of new customers to the district heating system, this action will enable the liquidation of individual heat sources, which translates into reductions in greenhouse gas emissions in the region. The planned technological solutions related to the modernization of the heating network enable effective supply of heat for heating purposes (central heating), throughout the year to both new and current customers. The use of the designed thermal insulation system will positively affect the financial stability of the company and, as a consequence, will contribute to increasing investment opportunities in terms of energy efficiency, which in turn will translate into reducing gas emissions to the environment. Reducing greenhouse gas emissions to the atmosphere will contribute to improving the state of the environment, implementing the assumptions of the policy of sustainable development of the economy. In a broader context, the implementation of the project contributes to the long-term climate objectives set out in the strategy papers at national and European level. The material scope of this project will include: • Modernisation of district heating networks • Modernisation of district heating hubs • Construction of new district heating networks with energy storage Accompanying measures This measure envisages the purchase of investor supervision services, promotion and information measures including the identification of project documents, e.g.: tender documentation, notices, contracts with contractors, protocols and other documentation created during the implementation and durability period of the project. In addition, it is planned to mark the place of implementation of the project in accordance with the requirements of the grant agreement. The implementation of the investment in question is one of the elements of the implementation of the company’s long-term development strategy towards obtaining the status of an ‘energy-efficient district heating system’ by the applicant. The strategic goal of the company until the end of 2025 is the production of thermal energy from RES at the level of approx. 66%. In the area of environmental protection and sustainable development, the implementation of the project will translate into: • reducing emissions of pollutants into the air from other heat-producing sources • increasing energy efficiency, thereby reducing greenhouse gas emissions and having a positive impact on climate change globally • reducing the use of non-renewable raw materials (fossil fuels) for heat production by improving the efficiency of existing installations • reducing the risk of pollution-related corrosion of monuments by improving the efficiency of existing installations for heat production • protecting buildings (buildings, buildings, small architecture) from corrosion due to reduced emissions of pollutants by improving the efficiency of existing installations for heat production
