Construction of the Nysa line - incision Ząbkowice Groszowice together with the construction of the Nysa station

The project "Construction of the Nysa line - incision Ząbkowice Groszowice together with the construction of the Nysa station" aims to improve the conditions of power supply and security of energy supply in the region of the south-western part of Poland. The project will also contribute to the reduction of transmission losses in the PPS and the development of intelligent energy systems and networks. The implementation of the Project will have an impact on the security of energy supply with the forecasted increase in power demand by 2025 and compliance with the quality parameters of the delivered energy, including in n-1 states, i.e. the basic criterion for assessing the reliability and safety of the operation of the electricity transmission network, according to which any single unplanned event resulting in the loss of power system elements may not threaten the security of operation of the closed network, i.e. cause overloads of other network elements, cascading outages or loss of a significant size of customers. This investment is aimed at supporting the process of expansion and reconstruction of the national transmission system, which is a key element in terms of increasing the energy security of the transmission system. An indirect effect of the Project, which will be achieved by strengthening the PPS, will be the creation of conditions for removing power from the planned RES sources. A station will be built to create conditions for RES connection. This will create favorable conditions for the development of renewable energy. In addition, the implementation of this investment will also create huge opportunities for the expansion of local distribution networks, which translates into the reliability of power supply for municipalities located in the investment area. This is related to the improvement of the conditions for the development of local entrepreneurship, which is conducive to the creation of new jobs. At the same time, these investments are one of the elements that will allow large-scale use of smart functionalities (smart grid elements). The project is in line with the EU's horizontal policy orientations for 2021-2027, including partnership and multilevel governance, supporting sustainable development. The investment activities carried out by PSE S.A., including the project which is the subject of this grant application, are consistent with the Union’s horizontal policies, including the assumptions set out in the document Sustainable Europe by 2030, taking into account the assumptions contained in the ‘Paris Agreement’. Actions aimed at improving energy security, including actions for the development of energy and the environment indicated in Priority II – Support for energy and environment sectors from the ERDF, under the FEnIKS Programme, are in line with the objectives of the Strategy..., and therefore the implementation of this Project also contributes to the achievement of the objectives set out in the Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region. The starting date of implementation is the date of the first tender procedure for the implementation of the Project.
