Construction of the Rembelszczyzna-Mory gas pipeline

Construction of the Rembelszczyzna-Mory gas pipeline, which will provide gas transport for customers of the Warsaw agglomeration. Investment parameters - length approx. 28.5 km - maximum working pressure (MOP) 8.4 MPa - diameter DN 700 - throughput approx. 300 000 m3/h - location class: The Rembelszczyzna - Mory pipeline is an infrastructure project for Warsaw and neighbouring communes. Thanks to the construction of the new pipeline, access to natural gas will be increased for industrial, energy, combined heat and power (CHP) and transport customers, as well as those connected to distribution operators – taking into account the growing communal and living needs of the residents of the Warsaw agglomeration and the ongoing energy change among smaller industrial customers, halls, etc. – the transition from coal to more decarbonised natural gas and possibly biomethane. Emissions of harmful substances will also be reduced, which will improve air quality in the capital. The projected increase in demand for natural gas is mainly related to the gradual phase-out of hard coal as the primary raw material used in the energy sector. In addition, it is extremely important to adapt the national transmission system to the possibility of transporting decarbonised gases such as biomethane or synthetic gas. The pipeline will be adapted for the transmission of biomethane. The expected increase in the importance of this energy source in the future will result in the need to manage its surpluses. The pipeline will also be adapted for the transmission of small admixtures of hydrogen. For the Rembelszczyzna-Mory gas pipeline, an environmental decision, a location decision and a construction permit decision were obtained. Tender procedures have been completed for the preparation of design documentation, supply of pipes, fittings, induction curls, construction works. Communication activities have been carried out since 2018 and will be carried out in the following years until the completion of construction works in 2025. Activities that have been implemented and will continue in the following years include: - launching and current update of the investment tab on the website gaz-system.pl; - launching and updating the website www.gazociagwarszawski.pl; - communication of investments in media and social channels; - launching a telephone hotline for residents; - to organise several series of meetings with local authorities and key stakeholders; - organizing several series of meetings with residents and the local community; - setting up a Working Group with key actors and local authorities; - production of information materials and their distribution to interested persons; - marking the construction site with information boards; - financial support or direct presence at local events with information about the investment.
