Construction of the Kędzierzyn-Koźle - Racibórz - Rybnik gas pipeline

Construction of the Kędzierzyn-Koźle - Racibórz - Rybnik gas pipeline, which will provide gas transport for customers in the Silesian and Opole provinces. The scope of the project on the episode. Kędzierzyn-Koźle - Racibórz DN 1000 approx. 37 km includes the construction of the gas pipeline with the infrastructure necessary to operate it from the Kędzierzyn-Koźle Gas Compressor Station to Raciborz (ZZU Roszowice to ZZU Stańkowice). Range of Sc. Racibórz-Rybnik consists in the construction of the DN700 gas pipeline with a length of approx. 38.7 km with the infrastructure necessary for its operation from SNO Stańkowice - ZZU Ochojec. The construction of the pipeline is part of the planned expansion of the transmission system in south-western Poland as part of the Coal to Gas programme adopted by the Company. The main objective of the Coal to Gas programme is to: - connecting new customers from the power sector (environmental issues and rising charges for emissions into the atmosphere force the need to convert energy carriers). - increasing the capacity of the existing system in the area of Upper Silesia and Małopolska. The investment will make it possible to abandon the use of solid fossil fuels (coal) for heating purposes by individual customers. Thanks to the increase in transmission capacity in the area of impact of the investment, the possibility of connecting customers to the gas network will be made available, who have not had such a possibility so far and have been forced to use coal-fired furnaces. The investment will also enable the abandonment of the use of hard coal by large energy producers and industrial companies. The construction of the pipeline will allow in the future to provide the possibility of replacing installations powered by solid fossil fuels, intelligent infrastructure and gas installation in the area of impact where the development of the gas market is observed. Numerous valve-discharge units have been designed along the pipeline route, which will enable biomethane producers to be connected to the pipeline in the future. The pipeline will also be adapted for the transmission of small admixtures of hydrogen. For the transmission infrastructure currently under construction and planned for construction, it is assumed that L485 steel grade will be used, while maintaining at least the same standards as in 2014 and 2021. Therefore, it is assumed that the planned infrastructure will allow the transport of decarbonised gases, i.e. biomethane and synthetic methane, and will also allow the transport of a gas mixture containing hydrogen admixtures in the future. The implementation of this investment will also increase the security of natural gas supply to customers and thanks to new functionalities and technical parameters it will be possible to increase the use of the infrastructure in operation. Environmental decisions, location decisions and building permit decisions were issued for the Kędzierzyn-Koźle - Racibórz - Rybnik gas pipeline. The procurement procedures for the development of design documentation, supply of pipes, fittings, induction arches, investor supervision services and construction works have been completed. The description of the investment task can be found at: https://www.gaz-system.pl/pl/transmission system/investments/other-key investments/kadzierzyn-kozle-racibórz.html https://www.gaz-system.pl/pl/transmission system/investments/other-key investments/racibórz-oświęcim.html Information and promotion activities will be carried out during the construction phase of the pipeline until its completion in 2027.
