The subject of the project is the installation of devices for the control of persons and luggage at the Szczecin-Goleniów Airport. It is planned to purchase: security scanners (SSC), shoe explosive detection devices (SED), cabin baggage screening devices - hand luggage explosive detection system (EDSCB) together with a system of transport tables, explosive trace detection devices (ETD) and fluid detection devices (LEDS). The material implementation of the project will be entrusted to an entity selected in a procedure carried out in accordance with the principle of competitiveness described in the Guidelines on the eligibility of expenditure for 2021-2027. The scope of the project and technical solutions were determined based on the results of audits, assessment of operational suitability and availability of dedicated technical solutions on the market. The necessary tender documentation was prepared by the Applicant for tasks with a value representing 100% of the planned expenditure. The equipment will be delivered and put into service in 2026. The system will be ready for use immediately after receipt by the technical services of the Applicant. The project implements the European Funds for Infrastructure, Climate, Environment 2021-2027 Specific Objective 3.1 Development of a climate-resilient, intelligent, safe, sustainable and intermodal TEN-T, with which, among other things, support for air transport within the TEN-T is envisaged. The implementation of the project meets the challenges identified in FEnIKS for the aviation sector, which are ensuring service standards in accordance with air traffic safety and security requirements. Improving the level of quality of checks on people and luggage, allows for much better identification of people on its premises and identification of materials transported in luggage, which means that the project contributes to the achievement of one of the objectives of the support: improving protection in the area of passenger and freight services. Security checks can therefore prevent drug smuggling and protect passengers and airport staff from the terrorist threat. With the help of advanced technologies, operators can effectively eliminate the risks associated with the transport of unauthorised substances or dangerous objects. All this is also to make the airport gain more capacity. The changes bring a lot of convenience for tourists. These regularly have to struggle with guarding the fluid limit and taking out all the electronics on the tape. After purchasing devices, the process will not only be faster, but also less stressful. The planned investment does not fit into the commercial, generating financial benefits, area of the airport's activity. Contracts under the project will be concluded on the basis of the Regulations that the Company has, i.e. "Rules of public procurement to which the provisions of the Act of 11 September 2019 on public procurement law do not apply" of 01.02.2024.
