Construction of the S7 expressway, sec. Miechów - Szczepanowice

The project consists in the construction of the S7 section expressway. Miechów - Szczepanowice with a length of 5.316 km, located in the comprehensive TEN-T network. The investment is located in the northern part of the Lesser Poland Voivodeship in the Miechów district in the municipality of Miechów, in the city of Miechów and in the town of Bukowska Wola, Wymysłów, Parkoszowice, Poradów and Szczepanowice. The beginning of the investment starts just behind the Miechów junction in km 622+185.00 and ends in km 627+501.46 in front of the Szczepanowice junction. Scope of investment: The investment in question provides for a two-day cross-section with two lanes and an emergency lane. As part of the project, the construction of engineering facilities and road culverts is planned, which are also passages for animals. It is planned to build access roads, a rainwater drainage system along with the construction of rainwater sewerage and drainage ditches and rainwater purification devices. It is assumed to build lighting and rebuild the conflicting networks of land armament. Installation of acoustic screens will provide protection against noise. The implementation of the Project will require the construction and reconstruction of infrastructure elements for pedestrians and cyclists. The entire project will be complemented by road safety and organisation equipment including, in addition to energy-intensive barriers, anti-glare screens, pedestrian railings and elements of vertical and horizontal markings, as well as a Traffic Management System. Technical Parameters: Road class: S; Surface load: 115 kN/axle; Category of traffic: KR 6. Objectives of the Project: - increasing mobility by creating a safe section of the express road route forming part of the trans-European TEN-T network corridor, ensuring high-speed long-distance road traffic comfort for travellers, improving the transport accessibility of Poland and interregional connections on the TEN-T network, - increasing accessibility to the trans-European TEN-T network corridor and improving the quality of internal communication links, - improving the efficiency of road transport and ensuring the free movement of people, goods, capital, services, affecting the growth of the EU's external competitiveness and internal economic, social and territorial cohesion, - adapting the technical and usage parameters of the road to the forecast level of traffic, by eliminating bottlenecks and filling missing road infrastructure elements, in a way that improves the capacity and traffic conditions in the transport corridor, - relieving congestion and improving the living conditions of residents of building areas adjacent to existing transport solutions, - improving transit traffic on the existing transport corridor and increasing the level of user safety in order to maintain the interoperability of the transport infrastructure created, by adapting the road to the applicable legal provisions for ‘S’ class roads, - increasing the mobility of people and goods within interregional exchanges and beyond the borders of the province, - preventing transport exclusion through the implementation of high-standard road connections, - implementing transport infrastructure resistant to climate change and striving to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by implementing road routes on the TEN-T network.
