The project “Improvement of the Łódź Railway Junction (TEN-T), stage II, section Łódź Fabryczna – Łódź Kaliska/Łódź Żabieniec – phase II” covers the remaining part of the works related to the construction of railway lines in the linear tunnel from Łódź Fabryczna station to line No 15, enabling the connection of Łódź Fabryczna stations with Łódź Kaliska and Łódź Żabieniec stations, not included in Phase I of the project “Improvement of the Łódź Railway Junction (TEN-T), stage II, section Łódź Fabryczna – Łódź Kaliska/Łódź Żabieniec”. The material scope of the Project includes, in particular, the completion of works related to: • construction of a linear tunnel from Łódź Fabryczna station to railway line No 15, consisting of 5 tunnels located on the following sections: - Łódź Fabryczna – Odolanowska (dual-track tunnel); - Odolanowska - Al. The Fibers - Al. Union (single-track tunnel); - Odolanowska - Al. Non-wovens – Długosza (single-track tunnel); - Al. Fibremakers – Inowrocławska (single-track tunnel); - Al. Fibremakers - Skarpowa (single-track tunnel). • construction of railway lines in the tunnel on the section from Łódź Fabryczna station to Łódź Kaliska and Łódź Żabieniec stations on the following sections of railway lines: - No 17 (2-track line), within the Łódź Fabryczna station from km - 0.780 to km - 0.142, i.e. with a length of 0.638 km; - No 458 (2-track line), within the Łódź Fabryczna station from km - 0.434 to km - 0.139, i.e. with a length of 0.295 km; - No 550 (1-track line), on the section Łódź Fabryczna - Łódź Kaliska from km 0,780 to km 5,077, i.e. with a length of 4,297 km; - No 551 (1-track line), on the section Łódź Fabryczna - Łódź Kaliska from km 0,688 to km 4,900, i.e. with a length of 4,212 km; - line no. 552 (1-track line), on the section p.odg. Łódź Włókniarzy – Łódź Żabieniec from km 3,499 to km 5,271, i.e. 1,772 km long; - No. 553 (1-track line), on the section P.odg. Łódź Włókniarzy – Łódź Żabieniec from km 3,495 to km 5,388, i.e. 1,893 km long. As a result of the works covered by Phase I and Phase II, 0.933 km of 2-track line and 12.174 km of 1-track line will be built. • the development of the ETCS system on the Łódź Widzew – Łódź Fabryczna – Łódź Kaliska/Łódź Żabieniec section. As a result of the works covered by Phase I and Phase II, the ETCS system will be built on 11.760 km of 2-track line and 12.174 km of 1-track line. • construction of 5 tunnels; • construction of 2 railway bridges; • construction of 3 passenger stops; • the construction of 8 platforms, including the construction of walkways and associated infrastructure, including persons with reduced mobility; • construction of 1 traction substation. The project will be implemented in the Design and Build formula, by the Western Region Investment Implementation Centre, in the Łódź voivodeship in the Łódź district, Łódź commune. As a result of the implementation of the Project, the technical infrastructure will be adapted to the following parameters: • speed V max = 90 km/h; • maximum pressure 221 kN/axle. As a result of the implementation of the Project, the requirements for interoperability within the scope of the Infrastructure TSI, the Control-Command TSI, the Energy TSI and the Tunnels TSI will be met.
