"Museum of Poznań - expansion, conservation and access to the most valuable Renaissance monuments of the city"

The applicant for the project is the National Museum in Poznań - a state cultural institution subordinate to the Minister of Culture and National Heritage. Title of the project: "Museum of Poznań – expansion, conservation and access to the most valuable Renaissance monuments of the city" The project will be implemented in the following facilities: - historic Town Hall - renovation and conservation of interiors, preservation of facades, - historic tenement house at Stary Rynek 42 - revitalization of interiors, - historic tenement house at Stary Rynek 43 - revitalization of interiors, - tenement house at ul. Monastery 22/23 – modernisation. The investment will allow: - opening the Town Hall to the public and launching there an exhibition presenting the history of the city and the history of the building, as well as the organization of events; The Town Hall has been closed since April 2019; is used exclusively for the internal needs of the Museum; at the same time, the building was undergoing renovation at the level of the cellars and part of the ground floor, thanks to which an exhibition presenting the history of Poznań from the 10th century to the mid-16th century will soon be opened here; completion of the exhibition requires renovation of subsequent floors, which is the subject of the project; - putting into use tenement houses at the Old Market Square and launching there the Residents' Museum with space for exhibition and organization of a wide range of events with the participation of residents; - putting into use the tenement house at ul. Monastery, as a facility for the Museum (conservation works, collection warehouse, library with a reading room, office facilities for employees) and space for lectures and workshops as part of the offer of the Museum of Residents (educational rooms). The scope of the project includes both investment outlays and equipment purchases, but also the maintenance of valuable museum exhibits, digitization and a training program for employees: Compulsory activities (net): - construction and maintenance works: PLN 54 327 799.30 (including ineligible cost: PLN 502,500,00); - Supervision: PLN 990 430.99; - information and promotion activities: PLN 500 000.00; Non-compulsory (net): - purchases of equipment: PLN 12 687 427.65; - conservation of movable monuments: PLN 1 717 200.00 (including ineligible cost: PLN 10,000); - digitization of photos, making them available on-line: PLN 60 000.00; - project management costs: PLN 1 350 000.00; - Preparatory costs: PLN 78 980.00 (ineligible cost); Soft actions (net): - Training: PLN 120 540.00; - environmental education: PLN 20,000.00. The project is ready to be implemented in formal and organizational terms. The applicant has building and conservation permits. The condition for the commencement of works planned until mid-2029 is obtaining co-financing. The investment will be financed by EU funds. MNP will also receive national co-financing in the form of a targeted grant from the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage. The total co-financing is 100% of eligible expenditure. The project will generate additional revenues from tickets and sales of goods (publishings, souvenirs), and the excess of costs over revenues would be covered by a corporate grant, which is included in the financial forecast. As a result of the project, a total annual average attendance of 82 225 people is expected (37 958 - Town Hall, 44 267 - Residents' Museum), as confirmed by a study carried out by a specialised entity. As a result of the project, 20 new posts will be created. Of these, at least 1 post will be dedicated to a person with disabilities or a representative of national minorities or a person aged 50 and over. The development of the project documentation, the ‘soft’ scope of the project and the programme of activities at the Town Hall and the Residents’ Museum were preceded by public consultations. Social participation, as well as taking care of people with special needs, is the basis of this project. The consultation confirmed that the project is considered justified and supported by the community.
