PANOPTIKUM - Competence centre for museums - supporting museums in the process of innovation and for socio-economic development

The main objective of the project is to complement the cultural offer in the municipality and district, including through social inclusion and social innovation, as well as to adapt the training offer for museologists. An additional goal of the project is to improve the conditions for storing museum collections. The main objective will be achieved through the following operational/specific objectives: • Construction of a new PANOPTIKUM facility. As part of the implementation of this goal, construction and installation works will be carried out, as well as building control systems will be purchased and installed. This will achieve output indicators in the form of the number of supported sites; • Land development – the area around the site will be made available to residents and will be able to become a community meeting centre in the municipality; • Purchase of necessary IT equipment, digitisation, maintenance, diagnostics, furniture and other complementary equipment. The purchased equipment and equipment will enable the implementation of the planned offer and the provision of services in the facility; • Improving the qualifications of staff – the implementation of training will improve the quality of the offer being implemented. • Implementation of a new cultural and educational offer for residents – developing a scenario of specific events in cooperation with other actors, involving the local community, will make the cultural offer easily accessible and in line with residents' expectations. The project is a response to a defined main problem, which is the failure to meet the expectations of recipients in the field of cultural and educational offer, including the small role of cultural offer in the area of social inclusion and social innovation, as well as in the field of training offer. The problem has been defined in the project area. The second area of importance for the project is the insufficient offer addressed to museum workers. Currently, NIM organizes many trainings for museologists, but the conducted research shows that this is still an insufficient number. Another problem of the project is the small possibilities of safe storage of collections on a national scale. This part of the project is an ineligible cost, but it is a significant problem for the entire museum industry. Currently, the construction of a design facility is underway on the project site. Besides, there is no other building. The project started in 2022, with the contract signed with the general contractor on 22 November 2022. The contract is scheduled to be implemented by the end of May 2025. The equipment is planned by the end of 2026. Similarly, information and promotion. Training in 2025. Indirect costs are planned from Q3 onwards. 2024 until the end of the project. As part of the promotional activities, commemorative plaques, press advertisements, information leaflets, information spots and an event ending the project were planned. In addition, any documents directed outwards will be marked with the appropriate logotypes. Adequate information about the project and funding will be posted on the website. The investment is ready for implementation – it has a regulated right to dispose of the property for construction purposes, full technical documentation together with the contractor's documentation, a valid building permit and complete and up-to-date cost estimates, as well as a signed contract with the main contractor, investor supervision and a BREEAM assessor.
