The subject of the project is a comprehensive adaptation of two post-mining facilities (mechanical workshop and forge) entered in the municipal register of monuments along with land development in the vicinity of buildings and equipment of facilities. The buildings in question are located in the immediate vicinity of the Silesian Museum, which has been revitalised and made available to visitors. The buildings will mainly perform an exhibition function with the main purpose of a permanent exhibition presenting the history of industry in Upper Silesia and the Dąbrowskie Basin. The buildings will also house a workshop and educational space as well as a professional metal maintenance workshop with technical and warehouse facilities. In addition to infrastructure activities, the project assumes the implementation of soft actions in the form of cultural and educational offer, in particular training of own staff and environmental education. After the completion of the substantive implementation of the project, a broad cultural and educational programme was planned in cooperation with external entities, including one foreign entity. Infrastructural activities are planned: Demolition and reconstruction works: demolition of the annex and addition of parts in the form of an annex to the workshop building. -Strengthening the foundations. -Reinforcement of the roof structure and replacement of the roof area. -Moisture and thermal insulation. -Construction and finishing works. Floors, facades, replacement of joinery. -Electrical and sanitary installations. -Robots in the surroundings (connections and external installations, donation of land adjacent to the workshop and forge buildings, including planting greenery). In addition, it is planned to: -Design services. -Investor and conservation supervision of construction works. Author's supervision. -Permanent exhibition with equipment (on topics related to industrial monuments in Silesia). Purchase of equipment. -Conservation of exhibits. -Digitalization equipment. -On-line transmission equipment. -Promotional and information activities (information and memorial board and organisation of the event at the end of the project). Soft actions: -Training of own staff (20 trainings, in which at least 140 employees of the Silesian Museum will participate). -Environmental education (annual cycle of activities "Museum Social Garden"). In addition, indirect costs are planned: -Project preparation (development of application documentation, update of cost estimates and demand studies), -Project management (remuneration of team members, trips related to project implementation, costs of opinions and expertise and equipment for project management). The project responds to a number of needs, both those of an investment nature known to the Applicant due to the daily management of the space covered by the project, as well as the needs of residents and visitors to the Museum and the region. The applicant has a building permit.
