"Supplying Voluntary Fire Brigade units with rescue equipment"

The project ‘Supplying Voluntary Fire Brigade units with equipment to carry out rescue operations’ is an undertaking whose aim is to purchase equipment to carry out rescue operations and remove the effects of catastrophic events, chemical-ecological and sanitary-epidemiological accidents, as well as educational and information activities related to climate and the protection of water resources. This project is a partnership project resulting not only from the needs of individual partners, but also from cooperation with the local community and meeting its needs and expectations in terms of supporting climate change adaptation and disaster risk prevention, as well as resilience taking into account an ecosystem-based approach. The projects implemented under the project are part of Measure FEOP.02.03 Prevention of risks related to climate change under specific objective IV. The participation in the project of partners representing various sectors (public sector, non-governmental organizations) allowed for diversification of activities to be implemented and their specialization in relation to individual partners. As a result of the project, the applicant Gmina Kluczbork will equip two units of the Voluntary Fire Service, which are entered into the National Rescue and Firefighting System, with equipment to carry out rescue operations and remove the effects of catastrophic events, chemical-ecological, sanitary-epidemiological accidents. The retrofitted units are the TSO in Biadacz and the TSO in Bogacica. Increasing the rescue capacity of supported TSO units entered into the National Court Register will positively affect the responsiveness of units acting to protect human life from the effects of natural disasters, catastrophic events, chemical-ecological, sanitary-epidemiological accidents. The general objective of the project is also to promote knowledge related to climate and water resources protection through information meetings with the local community, the creation of educational and informational materials in electronic version, an article in the local press, campaigns in non-public schools, a social media campaign and the organization of an information and educational picnic. Dissemination of knowledge will concern topics related to climate change, ways of counteracting and adapting, including the promotion of appropriate attitudes and behaviours, both reducing human impact on the climate and appropriate at the time of natural catastrophes. The project will be implemented in the Opolskie Province. The purchased equipment will be garaged in the garages of firehouses of the TSO in Bogacica and the TSO in Biadacz. The equipment will be used in the Opolskie Province and in accordance with the instructions of the District Headquarters of the State Fire Service in Kluczbork.
