The subject of the project is the construction and reconstruction of urban transport infrastructure. The project will be implemented in the area of 8 municipalities of the Opole Voivodeship, i.e. Cities of Opole and communes: Komprachcice, Prószków, Chrząstowice, Gogolin, Murów, Popielów and Krapkowice. The implementation of the project will consist in the implementation of a number of tasks by the lead partner, i.e. City of Opole and 8 partners (7 municipalities from the area of the Opolskie Agglomeration and Miejski Zakład Komunikacyjny Sp. z o.o. in Opole). In its scope, the City of Opole has planned the construction of sections of walking and cycling routes in the city, the construction of a bus loop at ul. Eastern, investments related to energy-saving lighting, expansion of the ITS system in Opole. All these tasks will be subject to investor supervision. The project also plans actions to improve the attractiveness of public transport, i.e. the introduction of tariff integration and the concept of ‘Mobility as a service’. Indirect costs and promotion are also foreseen. In the project, the partner is also Miejski Zakład Komunikacyjny sp. z o.o. in Opole, which, as part of its tasks, plans to purchase 5 electric buses, reconstruct the bus loop at ul. Pużaka together with the construction of a fast charging station for buses and the expansion of charging infrastructure at the bus depot. In the Commune of Komprachcice, it is planned to expand the road consisting in the construction of a pedestrian-bike route in the lane of the district road on the section Dziekaństwo – Domecko, the reconstruction of the existing provincial road No DW 429 in terms of lighting pedestrian crossings and the replacement of bus shelters. The commune of Prószków plans to build a walking and cycling path (in the footsteps of the old path) on the section Złotniki - Chrząszczyce with lighting and replacement of bus shelters. The Municipality of Chrząstowice plans to build two interchange centres, to expand the district road in connection with the construction of a road for bicycles and pedestrians and bicycles on the section Suchy Bór – Lędziny and to replace the bus shelters. The creation of a transfer centre is also planned by the Municipality of Krapkowice. The municipality of Gogolin plans to purchase and assemble bus shelters and bicycle sheds. The commune of Murów has planned the construction of a walking and cycling path from the village of Stare Budkowice to the railway station of Kały. In addition, it plans to purchase and exchange bus shelters. The Municipality of Popielów plans to make two bicycle paths, i.e.: construction of a pedestrian-bicycle path on the section from Popielów to Lubienia and construction of a pedestrian-bicycle path along the district road on the section from Popielów to Karłowice. The project supports sustainable multimodal urban mobility as part of the transition towards a zero-emission economy. The tasks planned for support are in line with the Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan of the Opole Agglomeration and contribute to reducing greenhouse gas emissions. As part of the project, it is planned to build bicycle paths with a length of: City of Opole: 11.25 km; City and Municipality of Prószków: 1,45 km; Commune of Komprachcice: 0.66 km; Commune of Chrząstowice: 0.65 km; Municipality of Murów: 4,74 km; Municipality of Popielów: 8.70 km. Total indicator supported cycling infrastructure: 27,450 km. As part of the project, 3 interchange centres and one park and ride will be built, as well as alternative fuels infrastructure (12 charging points for electric vehicles).
