The project aims to improve transport accessibility in the Opolskie Agglomeration through the expansion and improvement of cycling infrastructure standards and focuses on the expansion of the network of walking and cycling paths, walking and cycling paths and pedestrian and bicycle roads, as well as connecting individual means of transport with public public transport such as bus transport through the construction of the Bike&Ride car park in Miedziana. As part of the implementation of the project, the following will be created: walking and cycling infrastructure with a total length of 40,983 km, 1 Bike&Ride parking lot located near the bus stop in Miedziana for 6 bicycle stands. The project also provides for the construction of energy-efficient LED lighting at pedestrian crossings. The project is complemented by an educational and information campaign aimed at raising residents' awareness of sustainable mobility and promoting the use of public transport, and as a result, changing residents' communication behaviour to a greener one, in particular by using bicycle transport. The project will also include promotion activities aimed at increasing public awareness of the financial support granted, informing the local community about the results and products of the project, increasing public awareness about the implementation of the project, effective information about the actual progress of work, creating the image of the project implemented with the support of European Union funds in the eyes of potential project recipients. The project implements the following types of projects: 1. Construction and reconstruction of urban transport infrastructure, including: P&R facilities (only on the outskirts of cities*), B&R; cycling routes, walking and cycling routes in the functional area of cities – in the case of connecting towns, the cycling route in the rural area must be justified by the connection of the cycling route with access to the place of work, study, service or transfer centre; support will also be provided for accompanying infrastructure such as: stands, bicycle sheds, self-service bicycle repair stations – as part of the project; 3. Investments in public transport road infrastructure (e.g. bus lanes, redevelopment of intersections to facilitate and/or prioritise public transport on the move: turning lanes for buses, locks at intersections, road infrastructure at bus loops, railway stations or P&R, B&R facilities, including sections of roads connecting them directly to urban roads, construction/conversion of telecommunication sewerage, equipping roads and streets with necessary road facilities and equipment for the safety of public transport vehicles) – as part of the project; 5. Investments related to energy-efficient street and road lighting, as part of a transport infrastructure project, and 7. Info-promo and educational activities to raise awareness among residents and authorities of the promotion and promotion of the use and safety of public and non-motorised transport as part of the project. The project implementation office will be run in the Opole province, in the city of Opole and in the municipalities carrying out individual tasks.
