Objective of the project and problems and needs justifying the implementation of the project: The aim of the project is to provide protection against flooding of the urbanized areas of the city of Sędziszów Małopolski through the implementation of technical measures. The need to take measures to prevent the risk is connected with the need to protect the property and life of the inhabitants of Sędziszów Małopolski and the technical infrastructure facilities, public facilities and enterprises located in it. The protection of this area is important because, as a result of the flood events that occurred in the years 2006-2010, there were significant material losses associated with the destruction of buildings, public and private property. The consequence of these events was also a negative impact on the environment and human health, i.e. flooded and contaminated wells, sewage network, uncontrolled penetration of chemicals and waste into the environment. The implementation of the project will thus contribute to improving the conditions and quality of life of residents and entrepreneurs conducting business activity, as the area of 51 ha will be protected. The subject of the project, its scope and general assumptions of the project: The subject of the project is the construction with the necessary infrastructure accompanying the dry flood reservoir "Góra Ropczycka" covering the section of the river Budzisz in km 7+ 820 - 10+200 in the village of Sędziszów Małopolski, Góra Ropczycka, Zagorzyce in the municipality of Sędziszów Małopolski. The role of the reservoir will be to automatically capture and periodically retain in its canopy the reservoir waters, while allowing continuous, safe drainage of water with a bottom drain in an amount that does not cause damage to the areas located below the facility. The reservoir at the normal level of impoundment will be able to hold on the area of 58 ha water in the amount of 2.29 million m3. Its main element, which makes it possible to collect water in it, will be the ground frontal barrier located in km 7+810 of the river Budzisz, with a length of 468 m, a height of 6 m and a width of 10 m. In the lower part of the barrier there will be a vent structure leading to low and medium water flows and a slope overflow leading to water in the event of a catastrophic flow and full filling of the reservoir. Above the inlet chamber, the bed of the river Budzisz will be partially fortified with mesh and stone baskets and stone bedspread. The bottom drain pipe will initially consist of a steel pipe with a circular cross-section with a diameter of 1200 mm and a length of 8.3 m, and further along a length of 74 m a steel pipe with an arc-circular cross-section with a bottom lined with pebbles. The slope transfer with a length of 292.0 m will be reinforced with mesh and stone baskets. On the crown of the dam there will be an operating road with a width of 4.0 m with a surface made of concrete slabs. On the territory of the reservoir canopy will also be made a reservoir fed with waters coming from surface runoff and waters coming from the drainage of the Budzisz river valley fed by a ditch. During floods, this reservoir will be flooded due to its location. As part of the project, it is necessary to perform other technical activities related to it functionally. These actions will include: •reinforcement of the river Budzisz with net-stone baskets and a bulk stone marker for a total length of 120 meters • construction of a net-stone sharpener on the section of the river Budzisz over a length of 37 meters •decommissioning of the river bed Budzisz on the section interfering with the frontal dam of the reservoir •execution of drainage of the reservoir canopy by means of a network of ditches •decommissioning and sectional reconstruction of the power line •demolition of farm buildings
