Protection against filtration of the body locally and the ground along the entire length on the right bank of the river Wisłoki in km of the river 21+300 – 27+900 in msc. Mielec

Objective of the project and problems and needs justifying the implementation of the project: The aim of the project is to provide, through the implementation of technical measures, protection against flooding of urbanized areas of the city of Mielec. The need to take measures to prevent the risk is associated with the need to protect the property and life of the inhabitants of Mielec and the technical infrastructure facilities, public facilities and enterprises located in it. The rationale for taking action is related to the fact that the right flood embankment of the Wisłoki River covered by the project is not able to provide such protection, because its construction (including the ground) is not protected against the occurrence of cyclic recurring leaks and penetrations. The right-hand embankment of the Wisłoki River covered by the project also does not have a communication system ensuring efficient and coordinated flood prevention actions. On the basis of the established ground and water conditions and the analysis of the filtration factor, it should be concluded that when high flood conditions occur, the embankment body is treated as a structure at risk of filtration, while the substrate should be treated as strongly filtration. The analyses of the condition of the existing facility have also shown significant filtration velocities in the ground under the shaft, which may cause the occurrence of suffocation phenomena and the occurrence of hydraulic penetrations. The implementation of the project will thus contribute to improving the conditions and quality of life of residents and entrepreneurs conducting business activity, as the area of 805 ha will be protected. The subject of the project, its scope and general assumptions of the project: The subject of the project is to improve the performance parameters of the right embankment of the Wisłoki River in the km of the 21+300-27+900 river, whose role is to protect the inhabited areas of the city of Mielec. According to the assumptions of the project, the substrate will be secured by making a vertical filter screen with an overall length of approx. 6610 m and a minimum width of 0,40 m. The aperture will reach a depth of 6,0 m and will be made in deep mixing technology and partly in jet technology and in the form of steel sealed walls. The embankment body will be protected against filtration by laying on the slope of the dewatering embankment of the screen made of PVC film. The use of the seal is associated with the reconstruction of the top layer of the drainage slope with a thickness of 1.0 m and local alignment of the slope. In order to improve the conditions for draining water from protected areas, work is planned to build new footholds of existing shaft culverts (6 pcs), and in the case of one of the culverts it is planned to increase its length. Shaft culvert cables will be additionally protected by trenchless method in thermosetting sleeve technology. As part of the investment, sanitary sewage pipelines will also be secured with double-coupled curtain pipes at the site of the planned anti-filtration screen. On the entire length of the embankment, a road with a greasy surface will be made on the side of the embankment, and an unpaved technological belt will be created in the interval, under which 6 culverts will be built due to the location of drainage ditches. In order to maintain communication continuity, it is planned to build 13 shaft ramps. The area of the embankment will be hummed and sown with grass mixtures. Hectometre posts and shaft horns will be made on the crown of the embankment.
