Development of the rescue system through the purchase of a light rescue and firefighting car for the needs of the Voluntary Fire Brigade in Lutowiska

Lutowiska commune is the southernmost commune in Poland, adjacent directly to Ukraine and Slovakia. One of the biggest advantages of the Municipality is the wild Bieszczady nature, which is a stimulator for the development of tourism, which is the basic source of livelihood of its inhabitants. Due to its location and extensive area: 475.85 km2 and, above all, the low population density of the Lutowiska Commune is a difficult area to carry out rescue operations. There are six TSO units in the Commune, of which only one (TSO Lutowiska) is included in the CRSG. Long distances, poor road condition, difficult winter conditions and the need to reach places difficult to reach require high skills and, above all, good technical equipment. The proximity of the border with Ukraine is an additional determinant of good technical equipment, for example in relation to the ongoing armed conflict in Ukraine. TSO units from the Commune of Lutowiska took an active part in actions to help Ukrainians after 24 February 2022. Lutowiska are located 28 km from the border crossing Krościenko-Smolnica and 20 km from Ustrzyki Dolne where were located two reception points for service fleeing the war. The direct objective of the Project is to improve the state of preparation of the Municipality to take rescue actions in situations of threats resulting from climate change and technical and communication disasters as well as chemical and ecological accidents. The subject of the project is the purchase of a new light rescue and firefighting car to carry out rescue operations and remove the consequences of disasters or major accidents for the Volunteer Fire Brigade Unit in Lutowiska. The specific objectives of the Project are: - improving the level of safety of residents and tourists in the Lutowiska Commune in terms of natural and technological threats - improving the living conditions of residents - increased safety of management - increasing the competitiveness of the Commune.
