"Modernisation of the water supply infrastructure in Lesko"

One of the important problems affecting the municipality of Lesko is the inefficient management of the municipality's water resources due to high water losses and limited access to drinking water with high quality parameters. This is due to the fact that the water supply network for the town of Lesko is outdated, leaky and requires immediate intervention. The existing infrastructure, built in the 1970s, is in poor technical condition, resulting in significant water losses. The IMI coefficient is additionally increased for the water supply due to the reduction of pressure in the network (increasing pressure in the network may lead to significant damage to the sections selected for modernization, and thus increase the amount of losses). The aim of the project is to reduce water losses and improve the quality of drinking water by modernizing sections of the water supply network and facilities of the water supply system in Lesko. As part of the project, 935 m of the distribution water supply network and 228.7 m of connections will be rebuilt (as an ineligible expense), 1 raw water tank and 3 treated water tanks will be subject to thorough renovation, which is then delivered to recipients and recipients from the Lesko area. Tanks will be cleaned, tanks will be sealed by applying appropriate expeditions, tanks will be sealed from the entrances and exits with pipelines and the fittings in the tanks will be replaced. As part of the task, 8 deep wells will also be renovated, including renovation works and replacement of pumps with more modern, less emergency and more energy-efficient ones. It is also planned to expand the water treatment technology in 2 water treatment stations (Wolańska and Stawowa) by introducing a softening process (water in the water supply due to the geological structure of the area is characterized by high hardness), which will significantly improve its quality parameters. The project also includes the installation of photovoltaic installations for two water treatment stations (SUW BASZTA and SUW Wolańska), which aims both to reduce electricity consumption from the network and to secure the continuity of operation of devices in various conditions. The implementation of the investment will lead to an improvement in the conservation of the natural environment, including water resources, through sustainable water management. Reducing water losses as a result of the project will reduce raw water abstraction, thus contributing to the rational management of water resources.
