Reconstruction of the water supply network in the City and Municipality of Oleszyce

The project consists in the reconstruction of the water supply network in the City and Municipality of Oleszyce in order to improve the inhabitants' water supply and eliminate leakages. The implementation of the project in question results from the need to solve the problems with water intake/pipelines in the Oleszyce Commune. Currently, a large number of water supply networks, hydrants, bolts or water pumping stations in Stary Siole and Oleszyce are infrastructure created in the 70s / 80s of the 20th century. These pipelines were built of metal or asbestos materials. Currently, the average number of failures per year on the water supply network oscillates around 25. All these failures happen precisely on those sections where the pipelines are metal or asbestos. The same situation applies to hydrants and gates, which, like water supply networks, due to the passage of years have ceased to fulfill their task. Water pumping station in Stary Siole and Oleszyce on ul. Sapiehy (currently switched off) are pumping stations aimed at increasing the pressure of water supplied from the SUW in Borchów for residents far away from the main water intake, and due to the passage of years also their failure rate is very high. The biggest problem for the residents of the Commune are water supply interruptions caused by the removal of failures on the networks. The lack of efficient gate valves means that a larger number of customers are exposed to interruptions in the supply of water, and malfunctioning hydrants do not give opportunities for effective flushing of the network. As part of the project, the water supply network in Oleszyce will be rebuilt, a treated water reservoir will be built at the water treatment station in Borchów. Currently, there are 2 water tanks with a capacity of 150m3 on the SUW in Borchów, which with an average water consumption per day (approx. 900m3) means that at the time of failure or work on the SUW in Borchów leading to the exclusion of the water treatment process, the inhabitants of the commune do not have water after a few hours. Increasing the amount of stored treated water will make this time significantly longer. In order to improve the quality of supply systems and to eliminate water losses and improve the efficiency of water use, the Municipality of Oleszyce has planned the following investment: reconstruction of the water supply network in Oleszyce, reconstruction of two pumping stations in Oleszyce and Stary Siole and construction of a treated water reservoir with infrastructure in SUW Borchów.
