The project will be implemented in the area of the Skołyszyn rural commune in the Jasło district and the Brzostek urban-rural commune in the Dębica district. The material scope of the project will be entirely located in areas classified as severely threatened by drought in the context of the combined threat of agricultural, hydrological and hydrogeological drought. As part of the project, the following investment tasks are planned: a) in the commune of Brzostek: 1. Construction of a water supply network at a part of ul. Suburb in Brzostek 2. Expansion of the Water Treatment Plant in Brzostek 3. Construction of a water supply network at a part of ul. in Brzostek (b) in the Municipality of Skołyszyn: 4. Construction of distribution water supply network and sanitary sewage system in Harklowa - water supply network stage III 5. A comprehensive solution (off-grid) for the purchase and installation of photovoltaic panels at the SUW in Kunowa The project also provides for the commissioning of investor supervision services over the implementation of the material scope and indirect costs. Recipients covered by the project are supplied with water obtained for subsistence purposes independently from dug or drilled wells. The exploitation of such local shots, especially shallower dug wells , raises a number of problems, including: - relatively low water quality, inter alia due to the presence of iron or manganese, - the need for effective water treatment, - limited choice of pumps for pumping water, - the risk of periodic drying of wells in the event of heat waves or drought, - susceptibility to pollution or contamination in the event of undesirable components entering groundwater; in this context, it should be stressed that wastewater management in municipalities applying for funding is carried out to a significant extent on the basis of non-drainable sanitary sewage tanks, which further increases the risk of possible water pollution from individual intakes. The implementation of the project is an adequate response to the needs of residents identified above, because as a result of its implementation, newly connected to the water supply network customers will gain continuous, regular access to drinking water taken from collective intakes and treated, the quality of which is monitored on an ongoing basis. The main objective of the project is to increase access to adequate water quality for living purposes, including human consumption, and the sustainable development of water management in the project area. The main objective corresponds to the following specific objectives: - increasing the resilience and security of the area against threats resulting from ongoing climate change, - providing new customers with permanent access to water of adequate quality and improving the quality of life of newly connected residents, - eliminating health risks related to the use of water with an unfavourable physico-chemical and bacteriological composition, - improving the conditions for conducting economic and agricultural activity in the area covered by the project and increasing its competitiveness and socio-economic attractiveness, - increasing residents' awareness of the importance and necessity of rational management of water resources. The objectives formulated above are in line with the specific objective of the call and the action, defined as "Promoting access to water and sustainable water management". The project will achieve the output and result indicators described in the proposal, which will make a measurable and objective contribution to this objective.
