The main objective of the project is to increase the level of accessibility of three schools: Sarzyna, Ruda Łańcucka and Łętowna. This will be done by investing in school infrastructure to remove architectural barriers, supporting the construction of adapted sports infrastructure, purchasing equipment and teaching aids, and implementing reasonable accommodations. Schools in VI 2023 completed testing of the Available School Model. SP in Sarzyna completed the basic level in 100%, the other two schools in over 60%. The activities undertaken within the framework of the MDS have started qualitative changes in schools, which we want to continue. All schools implement the assumptions of inclusive education - especially in Sarzyna, where pupils from SPE account for over 40% of pupils. SP in Sarzyna has reached the basic level, but aspires to achieve the middle level and ensure full accessibility not only to students, but also to other clients of the school and the local environment. The biggest problem is the lack of sports infrastructure adapted to the needs of students with SPE - there is one small gym at the school, which is used by almost 460 children. Therefore, wf classes and extracurricular activities in the gym regularly have only half of the students, which translates into their low physical activity and lack of sufficient skills in most team games - children do not have room to train them. A project has been prepared to expand the school with a fully accessible sports hall and exercise rooms, in accordance with the assumptions of the MDS. The facility would be used not only by school students, but also by disabled adults from the neighbouring SDS in Sarzyna, Sports Club "Sarzynianka" OSP in Sarzyna or local groups and associations that have no place to develop physical activity. They will use the sports hall free of charge - it will be made available to them free of charge. The removal of architectural barriers requires a side entrance to the school and access to sports and recreational facilities. Toilets on the 1st and 2nd floor and one of the classes are expected to be adapted to the needs of students with SPE. The school needs specialized equipment for diagnosis and therapy, as well as for conducting classes, revalidation and PPP classes - in the school support is required by students with disabilities, chronically ill, educated in other education systems, children from Ukraine, but also students from families in a difficult financial situation or capable students. In turn, the school in Ruda Łańcucka requires a thorough renovation of toilets and adapting them to the needs of people with disabilities. Renovation and refreshment, as well as retrofitting, require classrooms to be a friendly space for students with SPE. Teaching aids need to be supplemented - in particular, programs for diagnosis and therapy, conducting revalidation classes and lesson classes. The primary school in Łętowna requires the largest investments in the architectural area. The building is from the 1960s and has never undergone a major overhaul. In particular, school corridors, whose floors are uneven and cracked, lack contrasts between the vertical and horizontal surfaces, making it difficult for students with SPE to orient themselves in space and move around the facility, require renovation. We want to renovate classrooms - replace used carpets, contrast them with walls, replace lighting, reduce the height of contacts, install blinds limiting the supply of sunlight - this will create a friendly school space, planned according to the principles of universal design, in which all children will feel good. The school lacks teaching aids, in particular for conducting specialist, revalidation, speech therapy and correctional classes, as well as classes with gifted children. The project will also introduce reasonable accommodations - sign language interpreter and portable induction loops to enable schools to communicate with the deaf and hard of hearing.
