Improving transport accessibility for people with disabilities and the elderly in public buildings in the municipality of Borowa

The material scope of the project includes the following activities: 1. Reconstruction and extension with an external elevator of the building of the Municipal Office of the Municipality of Borowa, in which the Municipal Social Welfare Centre (GOPS) is located, in order to make the facility available for the elderly and people with disabilities (OzN), 2. Construction of a slipway at the building of the Public Library in Borowa in order to adapt them to the needs of the elderly and OzN, 3. Adaptation of the bathroom in the Primary School in Borowa in order to adapt it to the needs of the elderly and OzN. In addition, the project envisages the inclusion of: 5. Development of technical documentation 6. Investor supervision orders 7. The main objective of the project is to support the socio-economic inclusion of marginalized communities and disadvantaged groups, including people with special needs, through integrated activities including social services that can be provided in accessible public buildings. This investment is aimed at improving the accessibility of these buildings for OzN, including the elderly (aged 60 and over). The project planned the implementation of infrastructure related to the management of the immediate surroundings of buildings with the sole aim of improving its accessibility. The main problem of beneficiaries, which will be solved through the implementation of this project, is the need to ensure full accessibility to public facilities such as the primary school, the administrative building of the Municipal Office in which GOPS is located and the public library. Due to the fact that these facilities are located in buildings that were built before the currently functioning standards and accessibility rules were developed, the possibilities for interference in their form are limited. However, in view of the need to improve their accessibility to NSAs, the material scope of the project was planned in order to enable the target groups to use them as much as possible. Support shall only address identified infrastructure gaps in the context of accessibility for NSAs. The solution eliminating the above-mentioned barriers is the possibility of implementing this project, which indirectly also raises awareness of the limitations related to the movement or perception of the environment in OzN and leads to the need to create infrastructure fully accessible to OzN. As a result of the project, access to social services, public administration, education and cultural services (library) will be improved. The project will further improve the functioning of public utility infrastructure and is an element of filling gaps in this area for the Municipality. It is one of the priority elements of strategic thinking about its development, including in particular improving the quality of life of OzN. The growing demand and capabilities of this group, including the technical condition of individual elements of this infrastructure and problems with their availability for NSAs, necessitate the implementation of investments in the indicated scope. Actions will contribute to equality, inclusion and non-discrimination. Improving the accessibility of social assistance, culture, education and administration facilities for NSAs and in peripheral areas will further contribute to the elimination of social and occupational exclusion. Disruption of the stability of processes excluding these activities can lead to multifaceted negative effects on society. The end result of the project will be the sustainable preservation of the principles of social inclusion. The project submitted for funding is a means to solve the identified problems. The objectives and scope of the investment strictly respond to the existing problems in terms of accessibility for OzN for the residents of the commune. The investment does not include ineligible costs.
