Extension of provincial road No 221 from Janków to the Kościerzyna Bypass - Section D from Nowa Karczma to Kościerzyna

As part of the task, 11.95 km of provincial road No. 221 and intersections located on this section of road will be extended. The investment starts in Nowa Karczma at km 39+850 and ends at km 51+800 in front of the junction with the Bypass in Kościerzyna. In addition, the areas of intersections of district and municipal roads with the provincial road, as well as a number of elements of the existing technical infrastructure, will be subject to construction and reconstruction. The aim of the extension of the planned section is to adapt the technical parameters of the existing road to those of the G-class road, making maximum use of the existing road body, and to improve the safety conditions of all road users, inter alia by separating vulnerable road users from road traffic (construction of pavements, pedestrian-bicycle tracks, etc.). The road on the designed section is characterized by low twisting and relatively small longitudinal inclinations. On the designed section of the road, corrections were made to the radii of horizontal arches. This is due to the need to fit the planned/extended road section into the existing state (minimum interference with adjacent land use), to improve road readability and to increase road safety (improving visibility). The surfaces of the designed roads will have bituminous surfaces. For the most part of the planned section, provincial road No 221 will have a road section 3.5 m wide with two sides 1.5 m wide. Sections marked as built-up areas will have a street or semi-street section with a road bordered by curbs. The street section was also designed on sections of bus bays located outside built-up areas. On sections from the beginning of the study to km approx. 45+820 and from km approx. 49+850 until the end, it is planned to build on one side of the provincial road a pedestrian-bicycle track (using the existing track on the section from km approx. 40+330 to km approx. 42+210. Its width will be 3 m and not less than 2.5 m on sections extending beyond the built-up area. In addition, on sections from km approx. 49+580 to km approx. 49+880 and from km approx. 50+620 to km approx. 51+450 pavement was designed. The pavements were also designed at the accesses to bus stops, as well as in the area of intersections with some public roads. Where conditions allowed, the pavement or cycle path was moved away from the roadway.
