Barrier-free work

The Social Integration Centre in Kościerzyna (hereinafter referred to as CIS) is a unit subordinate to the Municipality of Kościerzyna (hereinafter referred to as the Municipality). It was established by resolution No XV/130/19 of the Kościerzyna City Council on the creation of a municipal budget under the name of the Centre for Social Integration in Kościerzyna, granting it a statute and determining its property. It takes the form of a budget unit. It conducts its activity only in the area of the city of Kościerzyna, where its headquarters are located. It's just a small, hard-working one. 4 employees for an employment contract, including 1 person for part-time work (source: CIS, 05.2024). The CIS, as a single budget, has a limited budget only for current expenditure (no possibilities and prospects for larger property expenditures, data source: Resolution No LXXIX/654/23 of 13.12.2023), as the CIS was created as part of the revitalisation of the estate with EU funds and is housed in modernised buildings with EU funds. The CIS does not have laptops for remote work and does not have a server on which to collect data – until now one of the desktop computers has been used as a server. Furthermore, communication with this server-computer is only possible during stationary operation in the CIS building. If you need to work remotely, it is not possible to connect to the computer-server remotely, from anywhere (source: Information from IT, 05.2024). The Municipality retrofitted CIS only with ordinary office chairs and desktop computers, without foreseeing the introduction of remote working. In the event of a power failure, we do not have a UPS to the server-computer that would allow data to be saved and counteract the immediate loss of data (source: Municipal registration data, 2020). The activity of the CIS is carried out in a building on the first floor, above which there is only a roof. As part of the funds from the so-called alcohol fund, the CIS obtained funds for retrofitting selected CIS rooms with air conditioning. Due to limited means, air-conditioning was not installed in all rooms on the south side (source: CIS registration data, 05.2024). During the summer season, the roof of the building in which the CIS is located heats up, causing the air temperature in the CIS rooms to reach 30°C. Working in such conditions is very cumbersome (source: own data - information obtained from CIS employees, 05.2024). In response, the Centre for Social Integration in Kościerzyna developed a diagnosis of key barriers and needs of the project participants. A meeting was organized where CIS employees and the employer spoke about the problems, needs and barriers of the organization and the work environment. Conclusions: The TARGET GROUP requiring specific support is the CIS staff – women representing 100% of the staff, NEED: Workers need better equipped, ergonomic workstations, improved working environment conditions in the stationary work room, the possibility of regular remote work (including especially access to data). The main problem (barrier) is insufficient equipment and organization of workstations (high temperature of rooms in the summer season, lack of ergonomic chairs at the workstations), the inability to introduce remote work (limited access to data on the computer-server), which translates into their lower efficiency at work and the inability to work remotely. MAIN OBJECTIVE OF THE PROJECT: Adapting the working environment to the needs of 4 CIS employees (4 K) by retrofitting stationary workstations and improving the comfort of their work, as well as the readiness of the CIS to introduce remote work by 30.06.2025. The project will be implemented by the following tasks: - ZAD 1. ADAPTATION OF THE STATIONAL WORK ENVIRONMENT - purchase of ergonomic chairs and purchase of air conditioning for 1 CIS office room with windows on the south side. Output – 4 CIS staff (4 K) supported. - ZAD 2. INTRODUCTION OF REMOTE WORK – purchase of equipment with embedded software enabling regular remote work. Product - 4 CIS employees (4 K) supported.
