Development of pre-school education - a chance for good

The aim of the project is to increase access to pre-school education in the Starogard Gdański G.STG Commune by creating 125 new, permanent places in the PLO in Jabłowo - currently a construction project for a new building is being created, as well as improving the quality of educational services provided by the 7th PLO in Jabłowo, Rokocin, Kokoszkowy, Trzcińsk, Dąbrówka, Sumin, Brzeźno Wielkie, Jabłowo. The project is aimed at children who need support in reducing their deficits (130 people) and children with a lower level than the average of key competences (195 people), as well as up to 24 teachers who need the development of skills and knowledge in the ranges established in the diagnosis of educational needs. These objectives are to be achieved by: - carrying out adaptation works in the Jabłowo PLO building together with the purchase of equipment - hiring teaching staff to service new places in the Jabłowo PLO (for 12 msc) - incurring expenses related to the purchase of food and operating costs - carrying out classes to compensate for deficits of people with SPE and developing competences in people with reduced levels of competence - purchasing teaching aids for the above-mentioned classes - carrying out trainings for teachers. The above-mentioned tasks result directly from the diagnosis of the actual and forecasted need for kindergarten education services in G. STG in the perspective of 3 years, carried out by the Applicant and approved by the Mayor. Analysis of data collected from BDL and GUS indicates that on 30 December 2022 there were 890 children 3-6 years old registered in G.STG, while the number of pre-school places is 559 pre-school places. The deficit of preschool places amounted to 331 places. Forecast for the following years: The number of people aged 0-2 years is 515, and in the age of 5-6 - 470 people. On the basis of these data, it can be concluded that the seat deficit will be even higher in the following years. The creation of further pre-school places will allow to reduce the deficit to 206 pre-school places, which will allow to achieve the pre-school placement rate of 78%, which for the rural commune is an acceptable indicator allowing to accept all children who want to participate in pre-school education. 26.4% of all preschool children have judgments about the need to participate in educational activities that compensate for their deficits. Currently, in the G.STG PLO, only for individual people, equalization classes in the field of speech therapy and pedagogical therapy are carried out. Nevertheless, from the views of the parents of the children, the support should be organised by the PLO to a much greater extent. However, due to the lack of specialists, the lack of tools and teaching aids, the low budget of the facilities, these classes are not implemented. The lack of participation of these people in the equalization classes will cause growing problems of ed. and development, which will be more difficult to solve in the subsequent stages of ed. The diagnosis of edu needs indicated that 34.8% of children with a low level of at least 1 key competence want to improve their skills and knowledge in a given area will be covered by activities developing a given competence where a person shows a deficit. However, after verifying the needs and problems of the Ed. staff, it was established that there is a need to raise the competence in the field of modern methods of learning by experiment and Social Skills Training addressed to migrants and typically disabled people. It is also problematic that the relationship between the parent and the teacher deteriorates from year to year, among others due to the growing demand from parents. The entire scope of the project will contribute to the extension of the educational offer and will improve the quality of classes conducted in PLO facilities. Measures to improve the quality of pre-school education and teacher training are in line with the themes of the Integrated Skills Strategy 2030. Additional activities under the project have not been funded for at least 12 months before the submission of the WOD.
